It's been quite a run...24 days straight without any rain or delays, just one day after another. It feels like we have driven around the world and back! Still have tillage and fertilizer to tend to, but that can waite a day or so, I am tired....

Regards, Kirk

About the same in our area. The weather has cooperated greatly and I bet you didn't spend much on drying now did you this year. Has to be a good feeling to have it done.

Local farm bureau reported a couple weeks ago that at the point this year where harvest was considered 80% complete, last year was only 15% complete. Much better conditions this year! I have heard that the yields are slightly lower this year, but the corn drying costs are waaaaaay lower than last year.

A large farmer in our area that I know also said the same. I guess the kernels due to weather did not fill out completely. But as Dave said no drying costs.

A few places around here where the ground is still almost too wet for a combine, but the corn is coming out dry.

With the highground averaging out the watershocked spots, a little less yeild than last year, but nobody's complaining.
