I have a 40" Stainless Combo but it's full and one of my Project Leads turned me on to this deal. Sale ends Thursday and I wanted to get some opinions before I pull the trigger. It's a Craftsman 52" Tool Chest Combo with a total discount of $1K for a grand total for the combo at $1K. 52 in. black combo systems have ball bearing action drawer slides providing a smooth operation under heavy loads, and full-width aluminum drawer pulls. Griplatch® drawers that provides a latch for each drawer, while keeping others from opening accidentally. Long-lasting, attractive baked enamel finish.

Whatcha think?

I don't know Dog... I looked over all their toolboxes that are "on sale" and the prices look high. I haven't shopped for any lately so I don't know current market price but their "sale price" is about 30% higher then the price I paid for mine. Now, it's been several years so maybe it is the right price...

Heck it is only money, so go for it. Have not priced any of the big ones for a while but I did buy a smaller one for my last job and it was pretty nice. I paid that much for my Kennedy setup 35 years ago. Check out TSC and some of the farm store places as well. They get some decent deals on tool boxes at times.

I can't find any 52" combos near that price. I paid $800 for my 40" SS combo about 5 years ago. The closest was at $1400 and it didn't appear to have near the quality, features or weight.

My son works at Lowes and I really like the Kobalt brand BUT even his discount doesn't get me close. I'm going to look at it tonight.

I'm a professional hd diesel mechanic and bought 1 simaaler to it through my industrial tool dealer it has proven to be a good quality box i have tool sets up to 3/4 inch drive in it the draw locks work good and prove to be stronger than the snapon that uncle sam bought me in my preavious job the rails on some of thelargerdrawrs need to be strengthened because if its loaded and some one leans on it they will bend other wise 3 years later finnish stands up good and great bang for the buck

I went tonight to take a look. Playing my best Brett Farve impersonation and contemplating, I finally ask the clerk if they had it in stock. First thing out of his mouth really pissed me off .................... everything tonight gets an additional 10% off ...... :4_11_9:. Even the sales items? Yes sir ............. order me one ............. Got it for $899.

So it's been a couple years... how's it holding up?

Prices I can't comment on as I've had a small snap on bottom box and a Craftsman top box for about 30 years now. I will say this about craftsman though their boxes do stand the test of time. My tools are also a mix of craftsman and snap on again gathered over the years they have both held up as well as life time warranties though what ever craftsman sells snap cost twice as much for the same tools.

At any rate back to boxes, if they make what you need in size, on sale to save a bit you can't go to wrong with craftsman.
