Contraption; snowblower

Contraption... a little summer project. Parts from Ford, snowcats, trailers and snowmobiles.

The blower had a 24 HP Linamar (Onan) that is so underpowered and took so long to clear the 1 mile driveway. Now its almost fun and much quieter and less to go wrong.

It really works, hard to believe but I've had it out about 15 trips and have not broken anything yet. No one is more surprised than I.

Now its under "Public Disclosure" rules so no one can patent it.

Warmest winter I can remember, 43 deg. F today.

Can one build a variator out of snowmobile secondary clutches?

good looking unit i believe how ever i would have mounted a power pack engine in the rear of the truck run it so you wouldn't have to rev the truck engine up to move . the snowmachine clutch is a good idea and an idea i have tossed up in the past. the nice part of snomachine clutches is that they will automaticly shift as load is added to keep you from plugging the chute when the engine luggs or stalls in wet or heavy snow

Nice setup. Sure beats backing up with a tractor.. I like the old pickup and chains on all wheels. I chained mine up back before Christmas and until I need the truck they will stay on. Have you done any heavy wet snow?
