Colorado getaway
While you guys were cutting/splitting firewood, mowing, haying, or whatever, my son and I were in Colorado installing some new posts and a new gate. Check the cut and stacked firewood in the background. I own some land inside a development and the owners association got together with the fire department and cleared, cut, and stacked. This was a voluntary deal and was to assist in limiting forest fires. I ended up with about 350 stacks like the ones here.

The first 3-4" snow, they will come and burn the trash piles. What a deal!

We keep a camper there all year and different members of my family stay there often. But this trip we had a hard time concentrating on the work at hand. The elk were bugling straight time. We didn't go looking for them but they were within 1/2 mile from us. Our neighbors had about 30 cows and one big bull in their back yard last week. We did find some bear scat that wasn't too old.

Was a great weekend and really good to spend quality time with my son Nic, seen here with the new gate.

Thats some very red soil. Reminds me somewhat of Prince Edward Island up in Canada! I have a jar of the stuff in a bottle right next to me.
