I don't see it as a big change here in the US. We are too damn wishy-washy and the public opinions of Americans sways with the breeze. On the other hand, I give him a lot of credit for the trip, I think it was a great thing to do for several reasons. It sent a sign to all of allies in the world, not just to those in the middle east. It also sent an sign to our enemies. I think it probably was a morale boost to our folks in the armed forces as well. I really think it was a good thing for him to do, totally unexpected, and beyond what is necessary. But doing more than is necessary is often the sign of a good leader. I'm often critical of President Bush but this one act was, in my opinion, a good one.
