I broke my left track the other day. It was froze down, and I was stupid (yes, I admit it). I have some new old stock imp belting, and I have a line on some conveyor belting. Does anyone know the best way to make sure the holes are uniform the whol length and what is the easiest/quickest way to fabricate them? Thanks.

I assume you are just replacing a piece of rubber belting . I would use a hole punch made for Rubber belts . I paid about $25 bucks for mine .

Well most rubber hose places sell used/new conveyor belting and they sell drills that are designed to put holes in them for clean cuts. You can also get the drill bits from www.denniskirk.com under the snowmachine stuff for Ice cleats and such, that is where I bought a couple of them for rebelting a slowtrack.

The jig for the proper hole alignments can be gotten from a coupe of guys here, but if you use an old section of track as a guide, remember that the old track has stretched some over time and the new track may get out of time for the sprocket when it wears/stretches a bit if you don't make a bit of anticipation for that.

Thanks. I have 2 new pieces of belting for a pattern. Where can I get the jig? I think this is gonna involve some long days and some beer.....

I just took a piece of plywood and drilled the holes from the old track as guides, then I would put that over the new track belting with another board under under it and two 2x4's as outside guides. After drilling the first set of holes, I put a couple of bolts sticking up to move the tracks evenly up each time and put the bolt though the last drilled holes to keep the holes in a steady same pattern. Took a while, but all the holes are the same that way and easy to do.
