Hey there,
This is the week for broken machines in my neighborhood. First my friend's LMC3700 threw a rod through the engine block.
And now I have a problem and I'm looking for some advice. Today I noticed by right track was hitting the rear right frame. After some poking around I found that the hydro motor was angled up, and the weldment holding it on the frame was broken. . . thankfully I was able to limp it back to my home where I can get a welder to it.
The current situation is that the top weld is still holding, but it's bending back and forth and ready to break.
What's the best way to do the repair? Should I roll the track pins to the back so the track can lower down and out of the way? Do you think I'll need to remove the motor and hubs to get this one welded? It's dark out and I can't get a good look yet, so I'm just thinking ahead.
I imagine it will take some gusset plates, grinding, etc. before I weld it. Any tips?
Thanks,
Ken
