Great find, he did some amazing things in his life.

During the expedition Homard became only the second serving British soldier, after Captain Lawrence Oates, to reach the South Pole. He was also one of just 46 individuals to be awarded the Polar Medal with both Arctic and Antarctic clasps. Mount Homard, a 3,900ft peak near the head of Blaiklock Glacier in the western part of the Shackleton Range, is named after him.
