Boys .... I am going home !!!

BigAl

Gone But Not Forgotten
Today we were sent pictures of the birthday party of my caretakers family in Panama . It just about broke my heart not to be there with them .

My daughters have asked us to move with them to N.H . As of today we are looking for a very modest house in the country where the girls can watch our dogs and cats when we are gone to Panama .

Yesterday we had a "out of town company" stop by and asked if we would consider selling our ranch . Tomorrow I plan to tell them to make me an offer . I have 3 months work here for a commitment I took on and then I am free to take off .
I'll be 60 this May . Its about time for me and my lovely wife to start doing some of that livin that I promised her .

Bocas, Panama will be 6 months a year from now on .
Heres a picture of my extended family in Panama at the birthday party !
Betti is 12 today . The little girl on the right in the picture

Beautiful extended family BigAl! I hope all works out well for you and your wife. Hopefully you'll be offered a fair price for your ranch and the move will go smoothly. I would love to be able to live in Panama 6 months out of the year! How wonderful!

I think the new adventure is going to start soon . The wife leaves in 1 1/2 months to go house hunting while I finish up business here . I'll miss my ranch but I will not miss the cold snowy weather. .

Nah,,,we can still meet . I'll have the annual FF convention and snowcat meet at my place in Panama .The snow did not come this next year so just leave the snowcats home and bring a swim suit !! :yum:

If I were in your shoes that is exactly what I'd be doing. Sounds like a good plan, now since I've known you a few years I know you will make it happen. :thumb:
Keep me posted if an island or a nice piece of waterfront property goes up for sale in Panama. Maybe we could be neighbors for a few months a year anyway. :D

Good luck Al. I think that you're making a good decision. I'm not fond of those long, cold winters either and I live in Texas. I can't get my wife to think about such a change as long as her 94-year mother is still alive.

Go for it bro'.

Doc ,
Its nice to have a home that is ready whenever we go down but from a financial angle it would be better to rent than own . That way we could hit different countries if we want too. We just happen to love this area and helping the local enconomy by employing a secretary and two great caretakers helps them too . They really have become an extension of our family .
The one perk I really like is I can grab a day pack and get on a plane knowing all my clothes are already in the closets in Panama . Saves on luggage !

You just need to come down and visit . BTW The place where the picture was taken is for sale . Its just down from me . Hella view !!!:w00t2:
