The organization is supposed to funnel money to various foreign medical and charitable programs that promote American interests.
But what is being exposed is that, to the tune of billions of dollars, the money is being stolen by dictators while dips of cash get to some of the people in need, most is taken. Some seems to be funneled back up to the Democratic party and politicians. Much is given to charities that use it to directly help bring illegal aliens into the United States, and somehow the paid staffers then make contributions to the Democrats who give them money to break the laws. It is just fraud on all levels.

NGO #1 subcontracts “VIP” which is another NGO owned/operated by a political ally or Democrat politician. Eventually the funds reach the secret intended target and the original problem is not solved. This means they can continue to rinse and repeat this grift. <i></i>​

The most common argument you’ll hear from those defending the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is that the grant dollars in question are just a fraction of the federal budget — less than one percent! Even if the Trump administration eliminated USAID altogether it wouldn’t put much of a dent in the deficit or help control the national debt, is the argument. Everyone from the talking heads at CNN and MSNBC to Jim Geraghty at National Review are repeating this line.​

​

But trimming the federal budget and reducing the deficit aren’t really the point of this exercise. The point is to expose USAID for the left-wing propaganda and regime change operation that it has become, and to shut it down. In the six decades since it was established, USAID has gone from fighting poverty, spreading American ideals, and undercutting Soviet propaganda, to becoming a woke propaganda operation of its own that actively undermines the pillars of western civilization. It’s gone from exporting democracy to exporting deviancy, and it’s time to shut it down.​

President Trump this week tasked Elon Musk and Secretary of State Marco Rubio with a review of the agency’s grants and expenditures, which has already shone a much-needed light on where tens of billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars are going. My colleague Tristan Justice detailed a handful of some of the most insane projects USAID funds, including “$70,000 for a ‘DEI musical’ in Ireland, $47,000 for a ‘transgender opera’ in Colombia, $32,000 for a ‘transgender comic book’ in Peru, and $1.5 million for an LGBT jobs program in Serbia.” Other projects were to fund electric vehicles in Vietnam, infrastructure in Egypt, meals for Al-Qaeda terrorists in Syria, and internet censorship in the United Kingdom.​

One anonymous X user, @DataRepublican, created a searchable database of federal government grants that’s helped uncover even more outrageous projects funded by USAID. Some of these are genuinely funny and easy to ridicule. For example, a $30 million grant for an organization that funds women making ponchos in the Guatemalan highlands and bankrolls “community organizing” in Burkina Faso. Or a $20 million grant for a Sesame Street-style show in Iraq, a $2 million grant to promote pottery in Morocco, and $15 million for condoms and contraceptives in Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.​

​

The common theme in many of these grants is that they push LGBTQ, green, and woke ideologies under the pretext of fighting poverty and promoting democracy abroad. What began in 1961 as a way to promote stability and lure countries out of the Soviet orbit during the Cold War has over the past six decades transformed into an instrument of propaganda aimed at the foundations of western civilization. Everywhere you look in the USAID database, you see projects promoting LGBTQ ideology, mass immigration, multiculturalism, DEI, climate change-ism, and the like. You see programs that undermine the traditional family, that enable anti-free speech censorship, that strive to make the rest of the world just like urban liberal enclaves in the U.S.​

Even more alarming, a significant portion of USAID funds appear to be nothing more than sinecures for connected establishment politicians in the U.S. The person who built the database, @DataRepublican, revealed that huge amounts of taxpayer dollars, through both the State Department and USAID (the former operating as a passthrough to the latter), go to NGOs stacked with establishment politicians from both parties — basically, the Washington uniparty.​

As I write this, crowds of pro-USAID protesters, egged on by Democrat politicians, are gathering in Washington, D.C., to demand the arrest of Elon Musk and the shutdown of the Senate. Thousands of organizations in and around our nation’s capital are wholly or almost wholly funded through USAID grants in what amounts to a massive ongoing grift. For them, losing those funds means their NGOs will simply fold.​

And fold they should. What began as a State Department agency to promote freedom and stability abroad during the Cold War has devolved, as perhaps it was inevitably going to, into a scam that steals from American taxpayers and uses their money to promote the dissolution of the American nation and the destruction of its founding ideals.​

So it doesn’t matter how much or how little we might save by shutting down USAID — although every penny saved is worth it — what really matters is twofold: that we starve left-wing NGOs of the funds they use to promote toxic anti-American ideologies all over the world, and that the Trump administration demonstrates that it can indeed shut down executive branch programs and agencies that don’t align with White House priorities.​

The fact that Democrats are howling about this is an admission, on their part, that they don’t think a Republican administration should be allowed to control the administrative bureaucracy. They think that belongs to them and their pet NGOs and activists, who have been using it to wage psychological warfare on the entire world for decades. That ends now, and if it means the women making ponchos in the Guatemalan highlands will have to find another source of funding, or the transgender comic books don’t ever get made, then so be it.​

It says the money came from the US Government, but in fact it came from us, the taxpayers, and was funneled through the gubmint to USAID, and then to private mouthpiece organizations doing the bidding of the far left Democrats.

On Tuesday, staffers at Politico were notified that a 'technical error' had prevented paychecks from going out. Many joked that this had something to do with the Trump administration putting a freeze on USAID funding.​

And while there's no evidence the two are linked, the suggestion prompted internet sleuths to look into Politico's sources of funding. What they found was absolutely shocking.​

​

According to government spending tracker website USASPENDING.gov, Politico - which laundered the Hunter Biden '51 intel officials' propaganda during the 2020 election - received up to $27 million (and by some counts $32 million) from various US agencies during the Biden years.​

In one instance, roughly $500,000 was spent on 37 Politico 'pro' subscriptions.​

Of note, Politico was sold to German media giant Axel Springer (which also owns Business Insider) for $1 billion in 2021, meaning US taxpayer dollars have been flowing to the German media giant to prop up their US propaganda rags.​

And look at this, the NY Times received $3.1 million in taxpayer funds, while the UK's BBC received $3.2 million.​

Federal watchdog reports and other documents show former President Joe Biden’s aid programs funneled the money toward a network of terrorism in the Muslim world — largely by reversing Trump-era policies. National security experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation the new Trump administration must take the trend more seriously.​

​

“We should not be putting money into any country or areas where a terrorist group remains in control,” Bill Roggio, senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, said. Roggio said that “aid, like money, is fungible.”​

​

“It winds up propping up these groups,” the counterterrorism analyst told the DCNF. “It allows them to use … whatever money they have to invest into their terrorist activities.”​

​

The State Department told the DCNF last week that “national security is and will remain a top priority” after President Donald Trump announced he is reevaluating foreign aid programs.​

​

“The review period is a measure put in place for us to align our ongoing work with the America First agenda,” the department said. “The results of the in-depth review will be communicated transparently.”​

​

Trump also placed dozens of senior officials on leave from the United States Agency for International Development, one of the entities responsible for funding to Afghanistan that the Taliban stole on Biden’s watch. . . .​

American taxpayers are no longer subsidizing foreign media once funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), prompting leftwing concern over the potential impact on global journalism and “democracy.”​

​

President Donald Trump put a 90 day hold on all USAID’s foreign aid this week, which subsequently cut $268 million from media outlets in more than 30 countries, according to the agency’s 2025 foreign aid budget reported by Reporters Without Borders (RWB).​

USAID’s 2023 fact sheet, taken offline due to the hold, boasted the agency supported 6,200 journalists, 707 news outlets, 279 media-sector civil society organizations, the Columbia Journalism Review reported.​

​

“We have articles scheduled until the end of January, but after that, if we haven’t found solutions, we won’t be able to publish anymore,” a journalist from a Belarusian reporter told RWB.​

​

Anna Babinets, CEO of a media outlet based in Kyiv, echoed the Belarusian. “At Slidstvo.Info, 80% of our budget is affected,” she said.​

​

As the savings enraged foreign media, it caused great concern among Democrats, who claim USAID’s work is imperative.​

​

The agency’s work includes many radical left agenda items, such as $1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities,”$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam, $2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala, and $6 million to fund tourism in Egypt.​

“The programs that have been frozen provide vital support to projects that strengthen media, transparency, and democracy,” Clayton Weimers, executive director of RWB USA, claimed in a statement. “President Trump justified this order by charging – without evidence – that a so-called ‘foreign aid industry’ is not aligned with U.S. interests.”​

​

Globalists claim those impacted by the cuts are journalists countering Iranian and Russian propaganda, but taxpayers argue the USAID, reportedly a shell organization for CIA messaging, spent taxpayer money that pushed a left-wing narrative.​

​

“USAID, like the National Endowment for Democracy, are well-documented CIA fronts that are designed to manipulate other countries’ internal politics for the benefits of DC elites and nobody else in the US. Both agencies have wrought destruction and can’t die soon enough,” Intercept co-founder Glenn Greenwald said on X.​

J. Michael Waller, author of “Big Intel: How the CIA & FBI Went from Cold War Heroes to Deep State Villains,” said that “USAID is not a front for the CIA. It’s worse than that.”​

​

“USAID became its own unaccountable covert operations agency,” he said. “USAID ran covert ops without a presidential finding as required by law.”​

​

During this contract, the Justice Department alleges Al Hafyan worked with co-conspirators to funnel “millions” in food kits on the black market to the Al-Nusra Front, a local Al-Qaeda affiliate in Syria that is also designated a terrorist organization by the United States. ​

The USAID inspector general warned about the limits on the agency’s ability to monitor expenditures for programs in “nonpermissive” environments, like the conflict zones in Syria, meaning what happened there could happen in other places, like Ukraine or Gaza, where there are similar international or local organizations operating that are recipients of U.S. cash. ​

In another example, food aid in Ethiopia was diverted to warring armies in the Tigray region. According to reporting from Reuters, the UN’s World Food Program — a close partner of USAID — was aware that aid was being stolen from its programs for yearsbefore the discovery. In all, thousands of tons of USAID-funded grain shipments meant to feed the hungry in the midst of the civil conflict were diverted. ​

In light of the firestorm over tens of millions of dollars going from the US government to various media outlets in the form of subscriptions, particularly Politico, President Trump has directed the General Services Administration to terminate "every single media contract" expensed by the agency, according to an email obtained by Axios.​

Deep Cuts To USAID​

Meanwhile, the White House is also planning to cut USAID's staff from roughly 10,000 employees to just 294 - a 97% reduction, after Elon Musk's DOGE team revealed that the international aid organization has essentially been funding woke pet projects and anti-American activities.​

​

On Tuesday, the administration put a stop on all USAID work and placed all employees on leave, with thousands of overseas workers to be recalled within 30 days.​

​

According to Reuters, Secretary of State Marco Rubio - who was placed in charge of USAID earlier this week, said that the Trump administration was identifying and designating critical programs that would be exempted from the stop work order and deep cuts.​

​

According to the report, over 2/3 of USAID's workers are located outside the United States. As of 2023, the 'aid' organization managed more than $40 billion in projects. USAID's website informed people that as of midnight on Friday, February 7, "all USAID direct hire personnel will be placed on administrative leave globally, with the exception of designated personnel responsible for mission-critical functions, core leadership and specially designated programs."​
