How many wheels on each side ? How wide is it ?

A picture of the whole thing would help.

Could be a J5 with a custom cab/body.

It is 5 feet wide and 9 feet long it has three wheels I will try to get more pics. Very new to the forum still learning how to use. No tags any I can see

Those are the dimensions of a J5. If it's exactly 60 inches wide, it's from the '50s or early '60s. 64 inches is a newer model.
What thickness is the metal in the tub area > that is the area next to your shins/under your feet in the driver's seat ?
What kind of engine does it have ?

It is just under 60 " and the metal is 1/16 thick it has a flat head 6 in it and a four speed manual trans

Sounds and looks like a late '50s J5.

Do you have the tracks and engine housings ?

Does it run ?

What are you going to do with it ???

Yes I have tracks and housing rubber is shot but cleats are great . Working on restoring it.

It's just a port for a PTO. Lower left side.

As for engines, measure carefully. There's not much extra room in the J5 tub.
I have an all original J5 of the same vintage and a Ford 300/6 attached to the same 4 speed transmission as yours in a different machine. I'll measure them this afternoon.

That would be great. Do you think the four speed would be better the any auto? Can you drive a hydr pump off the trans?

The Ford 300 is about 3" longer. The C6 is probably longer than the 3 or 4 speed that came in J5s.

You can buy a PTO unit that has a hydro pump attached but it's $6-700 when I checked a few years ago.

I think the 4 speed would be tougher than an auto....All depends what you want to do with the machine.

Have you thought of rebuilding the 251 flathead ? It's a rough tough motor :flowers:

Looking for something with more power. Were can you buy the pto input shaft and pump? Just using it to go moose hunting and cleaning off trails to moose camp. My dad as a snow cat with a 300 ford and a auto in it works very well

So a ford 300 will bolt right up to this four speed Trany ? This Trany has four gears and a forward and reverse lever

I don't know about "bolt right up" but I do have that same 4 speed transmission attached to a Ford 300 .

You would need the right bell housing and clutch for the four speed many of the
Older Ford trucks had the New Process 435 4 speed with the granny low of
6.69 to 1
