bombi starter

does any one know if a starter in a 1980 bombi with a 1.6 ford interchanges with any thing in the auto world or is it bombi only?

I think a bobcat forklift used that ford industral engine. I got a part from them for mine one time.
Jim
just looked it up and bobcat 445 mustang had the same as my 79 bombi.
google your engine number

I have a 1976 Bombi with the 1.6l and I have been ordering engine parts for a 1972 Pinto 1.6l and have had good luck so far

I used to own a 1980 Bombi and ,like Greenhornet said, I had good luck getting parts for 1970 - 1972 Pintos. The starter in my Bombi was a Lucas and I had a local shop rebuild it.

what was the problem with it? The starter wire was found to be undersize and causing the starter just to make a click.

I checked all the connectors. I pulled the starter, looked at the selonoid and it had moisture in it and was starting to rust. put new selonoid on and good to go.

Hey guys I may be forced to sell this bombi (high property tax in Utah) but I dont have a clue what it is worth. I have restored the machine from ground up. most of the metal was replaced with alluminun, including the cab. any input would be welcome. thanks I will post pics.
