Bombi on ebay

Nixon I don't mean to pick on other machines I don't own, I believe you may be disappointed with a bombi. first the heaters suck, I find them more difficult to get in and out of than a snot trac , you have no cargo space for campers, I find the deep snow performance to not be as good as others , and ride sucks over the whoopti doos that said if you feel that a bombi is what you want I have one that minnasota outdoors built up in my back yard the owner would take 13k for it and it already has a neat platform for your over the cab tent.

Don,

Have given this a lot of thought on weather I will like what Bombi has to offer or not.

I presume that it will be heavier that 1402 was, plus more "heavy duty" overall, since it seems like it was made to run a plow & a drag at the same time, while the 1402 with its weaker OC4 wouldnt like that much.

Sitting in the middle and over all creature comfort is not a major problem on my end, I was considering to purchase it to run it this winter, and if I wont like it at all, and not see it worth to build to my preference, I would just put it up for sale.

Whatcha make of the Cushman Trackster?

My goal is not to have a very large machine, thus my tops at this point is something in the size of 1450 SuperImp at the max.

Dont really worry about having a camper cab either, sleeping arrangements can be modified as need be as well.

I'm just guessing that any tracked machine will do better in snow than my Jeep does, which had done very well in the past...

Just not good enough to go after a 5ft snow storm... :)

I have owned a tackster in the past like Lyndons krusty I never drove it things I learned was no room for the family 4 stroke conversions needed a ring and pinion change to get max performance from the cool hydrostatic drive system and they were prone to endoing on down hill grades

At this point, I'm not worried much for the extra room, as long as I'm able to get out on my own with another person.

Overall, seems like Trackster is just a more comfy version of a snowmobile, that has a better capability overall on deeper snow & hauling more gear.

I guess time will show.,

I've located a Trackster with a new engine installed from Search & Rescue sale in a neighboring county. They are asking $3500 w/trailer.

I figured it was worth it to check it out and try out this winter.

I will tell you if I were going to the bombi family it would be a br 100 plus. they have a ford 2300 and c-4 auto. also the extra track length seems to help a lot. I've had no experience with the imp but on paper the super imp looks pretty cool. watching your last restoration you are an accomplished fabricator. why don't you look for a liquid cooled imp to convert to hydrostatic drive, think of what a cool rig that would be a Cushman on steroids

Well, I was actually looking to see to go for a wider track on the Cushman, I'm not really worried much on speed and such, just need to make sure I'm chuggin along at least 5-10mph in 5ft of powder if need be.

Looking into purchasing a lake resort right now, and that place is snowed in 9 months out of the year...

here is a pic of the bombi in my back yard last boat coming in a few weeks

My quest and whole point is to stay under/around $5000 price range, since I could care less of the condition of the unit, as long as its somewhat "running" :)

Dont really want to pay for someone's work, that I will waste by cutting it off and salvaging it.

well I understand that's about how I think especially how I have to adapt equipment to my environment. that said Boggie did do a nice job on it. the 1.6 is just a little under powered needs a 2.3 efi I think it would liven things up a bit and a longer track would smooth out the ride and cause less drift to the right or left here I go dreaming again.

Mods and upgrades are always fun... :)
