Bombi Cam

Well i've been a member and a huge lurker here for quite a while. Lots of very good information here. Takes some of the trial and error out of it. Not all of it though.:hammer:

We have a 75 Bombi with the 1.6L Ford industrial engine that needs a cam. The drive gear for the distributor/oil pump is missing teeth. Does anyone know where a good place to get a new or used cam for this engine would be?

I tried getting some other parts for this engine from PittElectric, the Ford industrial dealer for our area, but they couldn't seem to find anything with the numbers that were on the engine.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

You might want to check with forum member Boogie. He seems to deal with a fair bit of bombardier restos and might be a good source for parts for you.

if you have the 711w block , try 1969 to 1972 ford pinto 1600, or that block was used for formula ford racing 1600 series, lots of aftermarket parts and performace parts are available, but a little more $$$

I've owned two Bombis in the past and completely rebuilt one of them. Great machines! I've also owned a 1200C Spryte and several trucks which all had the Ford industrial engines. Rebuilt several. My personal opinion is buy only Ford Industrial Engine parts when working on these engines, especially carbs, distributers, cams etc.. You may save a little money going with an auto application but I guarantee you will loose in the performance of the engine. Do a search for a dealer near you if Boggie can't help you out. Randy

Thanks for the suggestions guys:punk: When I get a chance to figure out exactly what I need I will get in touch with Boggie and go from there.
