Hi folks;
Just lurking here for a bit seems like a knowledgable group so here goes...
My BR-200 had just been serviced and the idiots did not refill the hydrostatic tank after changing the filter. I got a brief 'low hydrostatc fluid' light on the dash at one point on the way down the hill. While climbing back onto the truck the machine skittered and kicked towards the right. Back on the ground no steering control. Had to winch the thing up to get it home.
The system took 8 liters of ATF to fill!
I now have no drive to the right track even in normal fwd or rev drive.
The mechanic who is working on the machine noticed that the gear on the hydrostatic motor turns in straight drive (no steering). He says it should be locked by equal fluid pressure on each side and this is why there is no drive to one track so he is looking for for hydrostatic problem.
I think that the hydrostatic motor should free-wheel under straight drive.
Anyone know which is the case?
Anyway. The machine is now jacked up and the problematic right track can be turned a bit by hand but resists after about 1/4 turn of the drive sprocket. The left track turns free forever.
Any ideas or advice?
Thanks, Drew
