Bombardier (Ford C-4 auto trans) dipstick

I rescued an automatic transmission dipstick for my Bombardier (which I think has a Ford C-4 transmission) but it's too long. Could someone tell me the correct length and where the marks for appropriate levels of fluid should be?

well here is what I came up with but if your filler neck is not the same then it will be wrong. since the filler neck is the gaged length. from the under neath of the cap to full measures 18.1875 inches(3/16) low measures 18.6875 (11/16) hope this helps

I cut off my too-long dipstick and drillled small holes at the lengths suggested. When I put the dipstick into the tube the ATF level seemed to be about in the correct range. Battery needed charging (no snow here yet) so I didn't start the engine and try the ATF level in park with engine idling. I'll probably try that this weekend. I had tried to carefully add the correct amount of ATF originally, but that's something I'll want to check before each operation.
Thanks.
