sorry for my english im praticly only talking in french...

hello san,

Your english is very good, much better than my french.

I was able to own and operate a bombi with a 2.4L mercedes automotive based diesel. I have since traded the bombi towards a tucker but it is near by if you want other photos.

I liked it very much.

it fit very good. I have some photos of that machine as well as a few threads on this Forums forums site. search out user "dick" or "redsqwrl" and you may find some photos.

Private message me an email and I can share the photos with you.

Mike.

Also the benz motor i had had an automatic trans mission, There were times I did not care for the automatic but the overdrive did provide faster speeds which were nice at times.

Also no turbo.

Welcome to the group.

a 1.9 tdi would be cool good power to weight a 2.3 with efi from a ranger would make a nice conversion too as would the 2.3 turbo used in the old t birds. thew only down side to the benz motor would be weight. but an automotive benz motor running should be easy to come by.

Yes ist what im thinking the TDI should be a good choice the problem is to fit a rear axel transmissin on it... for benz motor not realy easy to find here

there is an outfit in Canada makes adaptors to mate the tdi to samuri transmissions and a few others might check them out.
