It will likely not be for the better person, most qualified for the job. That happens so very rarely.
We the people, do not vote for the best person for the job of President. It is pure luck that one of such calibers lands the job.
Harry S Truman who was very competent but won because he was from the Roosevelt administration.
Ronald Reagan who was a competent tough manager. But was elected because he was likable.
Donald Trump wasn't all that likable. However, he won because he was clever in his campaign strategies to win. That he was, arguably, the best manager of government resources came as a surprise to many.
And why he is feared by many on both sides of the aisle.
To the subject of the thread, The Derrick Gibsons of our world are anomalies, but do show an indication of dissatisfaction with the Democrat party by some members of the Black community. It is something we haven't seen since re-construction.
