Just when you think you have heard all of the stupid things that are going on in the US -- this comes along...






Black hurricanes....






Well, it appears our African-American friends have found yet something else to be pissed about. A black congresswoman (this would be Sheila Jackson Lee, of Houston ), reportedly complained that the names of hurricanes are all Caucasian sounding names.




She would prefer some names that reflect African-American culture such as Chamiqua, Tanisha, Woeisha, Shaquille, and Jamal. I am NOT making this up!




She would also like the weather reports to be broadcast in 'language' that street people can understand because one of the problems that happened in New Orleans was, that black people couldn't understand the seriousness of the situation, due to the racially biased language of the weather report.




I guess if the weather person says that the winds are going to blow at 140+ MPH, that's too hard to understand.

There are only two groups of people in America who promote racism.

A majority of Americans could care las about race, it is no longer an issue with them one way or another.
So we are left with two groups to whom special attention must be focused upon the issue of racee.

Skinheads and liberals.

Skinheads seem to be geneitcal predisposed to it, perhaps it's not really their falt.
Liberals are supposedly educated, at least many claim to be,,,,they should know better.

Sure :whistling: race gets brought up 10x as much on this forum than the one I mod, and it has lots lots more threads per day and 1000's more members. It is a pretty liberal site.

This Forum's entire week end was devoted primarily to tolerance of gays. Brought up by one nubie who was intolerant of them. However, based on your queer logic, we must all be intolerant of them.

Simply because of our response to the OP's positions.

The simple truth about it is that one person brings up the accusation, or points out the double standard, and that initiates the discussion, having nothing to do with the percentage of race baiters, and race haters, on this site.

Sorry Mak2 but racism is no joke. And it is certainly not just 10 years old.

But in the last ten years thelibs have really latched on to it an as campaign ploy. All to the detriment of years of societal progress in our race relations.

OccupyWall Street is not caused by conservatives

In both of these cases, angry voices have lead to bedlam, public urinating and crapping, violent crime, public lewedity, desrespect for the property and personal rights of bystanders and participants. General disorder.

In fact the only grass roots movenment in the recent memory that does no damage to the parks or surrounds, nor threatens the peace, was done by Conservatives. citizens representing their political positions, in peaceful assembly, voicing greavances to its government without any proven assaults on persons or property.

Which of the above was represented and comforted by liberals.

About this time in the election fury of four years ago many of my Liberal aquaintances were suggesting that it wa time America had a lack President. That group includes half of my Brotherswho I will have to describe as elitist, ad yes liberal guilt ridden racist who would have nno trouble paying reparatins with everyone else's money.

I will admit, it was a long time coming but, I found it difficult to rationalize that the first black President needed to be the communistic socialist Obama's two books, his speech rhetoric, and his voting record, suggested he would be.

But I get it now. It was a long time coming and we were due...
Now, that task is over.

We have yet to have a Mormon president. So in the same spirit, and using the same irrelavant logic, perhaps it is time to have a Mormon in the White House.:whistling:

How about we demand that Indigineous natives names be used also, or instead.

There are a good number of People in the world named Franc. Eventhe French have their coin named afer me or me after them....

I take no credit for the French, their money or anything done by someone who shares my name. No one should.
We steal enough from our neighbors and frends when we ask them to pay taxes. No need to steal a name as well.

What's yours is truely your unless you let someone else convince you otherwise. Waite Wolivi is a common Cherokke name. Many who have it are worthless drunks, many are rightious and upstanding. I share none of either except what I myself do.

Storms are named because it is easier than unising serial numbers. Simple names were easier still. That's the end of it. Not one is named because someone else is brutal or great or windy or has any reputation to lend to the storm.

mak, this is not a joke; she actually did call for the NWS to start including obviously "black" names in the lists for future hurricanes.
However, that bit about the language used to issue warnings is indeed a screed added later; she never said any such thing.

Franc, we all know racism goes back as far as humans do, and probably longer; by way of example, Amerinds normally called
their tribe "The People" (in their own language), and had names for other tribes that translated as "enemy". mak's point was that Sheila
Lee spoke these words in 2003; this in not something that just happened.
