Anyone hit the stores on that day?

Here is a site that shows a lot of sales that may (or may not) be publicized for that day.

The TV's on Circuit City look like a good deal. Click here

Much like Best Buy, Circuit City has revealed six unadvertised Black Friday bargains, these deals are good in-store on Black Friday, but they do not appear in the Black Friday ad. The items listed are:
* Sony 50” LCD Projection HDTV (KDF-50E2000) - $1079.99
* Samsung 42" Widescreen DLP Projection HDTV (HL-S4266W) - $799.99
* Sony 40" BRAVIA S-Series LCD HDTV (KDL-40S2010) - $1199.99
* Samsung 50" Plasma HDTV (HP-S5053) - $1799.99

Got a 25% off coupon from my local farm store for Sat/Sun after. I'm thinking of buying a Hobart AC/DC Arc Welder since I can get $100 off with the coupon. Can't think of any other high dollar items that they carry. Would have bought a big gate but they excluded fencing.

I quit shoppping in stores from Thanksgiving till after new years several years ago. Can't stand the crowds. Shopping on the internet is easier.

I do the same (but over-indulged on Cabela's last night :rolleyes: ).
Most of the stores offer the same price on internet orders and toss in free shipping. The internet version is our plans for Friday.

I put a 42" Panasonic Plasma on layaway at WalMart. I'll go into WalMart on Friday morning some time to see if the price is down. If not, I'll pick it up on Saturday. But not on that crazy day, unless the price is down.

This way, I avoid most of the craziness.

I guess you're one of the last layaway users at Walmart. Customers have until December 8 to pick up their items from layaway, and then the program is over for good.

On another note, how many Black Friday shoppers here buy items for Christmas gifts and how many of you buy the items for yourself?

I have never used layaway before. When I asked a WalMart person about black friday sales on plamas, I was told "good luck", and was further expalined to me how crazy it can be. This person suggested a way to get what I wanted and maybe even a better price by putting it on lay away. The TV is mine, no matter what, and if it is on sale on Friday, I'll get the sale price.
I'll let you know how this worked out later on Friday.
