Any body know anything about Jatropha curcas as the next Biodiesel fuel?

In the present investigation of the jatropha curcas oil which has been considered as a potential alternative fuel for the compression ignition (C.I.) engine.[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0NXEevhmjY"]YouTube - New Clean Fuel: Bio-Diesel[/ame]

Redneck and I are considering using about an acre of this for starters. If it works out we may get new cars that burn diesel fuel.....our own fuel

Forget about a "NEW" diesel car. They don't play well with biodiesel.

There are airlines using it already. One of the school districts around here are using it for the school buses, and today at an informal meeting we found out it does work in the newer vehicles.

The biodiesel that's available today, is a blend of the bio stuff and standard diesel fuel.
It goes in grades. B-10 is a blend of 10% bio product with 90% diesel fuel.
B-20 is 20% bio and 80% diesel, and on down the line. Works great in warm weather, but tends to get a tad stiff in colder climes.

And...today they ran a tractor on juice squeezed straight from the nut.
They did say that the fuel lines would be clogged in a hurry

EVERY manufacturer will void their warranty if you use more than B10. Particulate filters don't like it and clog quickly on the new diesels, too.
