Biden regime moves to sabotage Trump’s domestic energy agenda with less than a month left

The Biden administration is attempting to block all oil, gas, and geothermal development in Nevada’s Ruby Mountains only days before President-elect Donald Trump assumes office.
On Monday the administration revealed that it’s filed an application to withdraw 264,000 acres of land in the Ruby Mountains from oil, gas, and geothermal leasing for 20 years, as reported by the Associated Press.
The catch is that the approval process can take up to two years, during which time the specified land will temporarily remain off-limits for those seeking to pursue oil, gas, or geothermal development.
So by just filing an application, the administration has arguably already sabotaged Trump for at least two years, if not longer.
Though in fairness, Trump’s own Forest Service rejected the idea of allowing oil/gas/geo development in the region five years ago after a public comment period led to thousands of complaints being filed.
“This is a resounding victory for the Rubies and the wildlife that call them home,” Patrick Donnelly of the Center for Biological Diversity said at the time. “It’s a testament to the power of the people to resist the Trump administration’s destructive frack-anywhere agenda.”

Biden Tries To Trump-proof Agenda, Bolster Legacy In Final Days In Office

By Antoine BOYER
December 31, 2024
. . . "Biden is scared by what he fears President Trump may do," said Rowland.
"That fear is making him especially forceful in trying to limit the agenda of the incoming Trump Administration and to solidify his administration's accomplishments," he said.
The outgoing president had previously granted 39 presidential pardons and commuted sentences for nearly 1,500 people, with the White House hailing it as "the largest single-day grant of clemency in modern history."
"All presidents use their power to pardon or commute sentences at the end of their presidencies," Wendy Schiller, a Brown University political science professor, told AFP.
Zelizer said the judicial actions may be motivated by Biden seeking to "honor some of the promises he made during his campaign on criminal justice."
One of his most notable decisions, however, was to pardon his son, Hunter Biden, who he said had been subjected to unfair treatment by the courts and prosecutors.
The move provoked strong criticism from Trump and Republicans, but also from close Democratic allies.
Rowland said the pardon has "definitely had a major negative impact" on Biden's reputation, adding impetus to his final days' work to shape public opinion of his outgoing administration.
Another one of Biden's pledges was to take action on student debt owed by millions of Americans.
Days before Christmas, the outgoing president announced student debt cancellation for 55,000 public service workers.
That brought "the total number of individuals who have been approved for student debt relief under my Administration to nearly 5 million people through various actions," Biden said.
For Rowland, "the most striking decision" by Biden in his final days has been the "effort to get as much aid to Ukraine as possible before Trump becomes president."
In December, Washington announced four new shipments of military equipment to Kyiv, worth several billion dollars, to aid in the country's fight against Russia's invasion.
While it is still uncertain what Trump's policy will be toward Ukraine once he is in the Oval Office, the Republican has voiced strong opposition to US missiles being fired into Russia, which Biden approved after the election.
Biden also recently increased US commitments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Trump, a noted climate change skeptic, may attempt to walk those back, with a friendly Congress at his side.
The White House and Democrats in the Senate -- which is set to flip to Republican control, along with the House of Representatives -- have been working to quickly confirm as many judges as possible.
Biden has made appointing diverse candidates to the federal bench a priority, including by naming the first Black woman to the Supreme Court, Ketanji Brown Jackson, during his term.
In all, at least 235 federal judges have been confirmed by the Senate during Biden's four years in office, a record for a single term since the Jimmy Carter administration, the White House boasts.
As Democratic-aligned groups aim to stymie the Trump agenda through the courts, Biden-appointed judges may help temporarily, though key issues may ultimately end up in the Supreme Court, where conservatives have a broad 6-3 majority.

AXIOS, which seems to be a far left news source that is often quoted by left leaning news media as a credible source, is reporting this . . . be mindful of the bias as you read this

Inside House Dems' 11th-hour plot to sabotage Trump's agenda

House Democrats are strategizing ways to put a damper on the Trump administration's sweeping plans while their party still retains some control in Washington, Axios has learned.
Why it matters: Many Democrats fear that full GOP control of Congress – an increasingly likely prospect – will allow Trump to roll back many of the gains they made under the Biden administration.
  • House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is already telling allies how he is preparing to lead the resistance to Trump, Axios' Hans Nichols reported.
  • "We as Democrats have to roll up our sleeves and get into defense and protection mode," Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-Ill.) told Axios.
  • Said outgoing Congressional Progressive Caucus Chair Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.): "A lot of things can be undone, but it can take longer to undo them and it will force a priority from them on what they want to focus on."
What we're hearing: The talks mainly involve members of the Progressive, Black, Hispanic, Asian Pacific American and Equality caucuses, according to multiple lawmakers engaged in the discussions.
  • Ramirez said the conversations center on figuring out "what are the things [where] we have any powers to protect the communities that we know will be most harmed as a result of a Donald Trump election."
  • Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.) confirmed to Axios "there are conversations that are taking place where people are tying to figure out if there are some steps that can be taken that can reduce the damage."
  • Hispanic Caucus Chair Nanette Barragan (D-Calif.), in a statement, pointed to immigration policy as a key focus, noting Republicans "have promised mass deportations. The president-elect has even admitted that women and children could get caught up in these operations."
Zoom in: Jayapal said one plan is to propose a raft of executive orders President Biden could issue to "protect existing structures," such as shielding career civil servants and Justice Department officials.
  • She also said lawmakers are working on getting funds from the Inflation Reduction Act, bipartisan infrastructure law, and CHIPS Act "out the door as quickly as possible."
  • Rep. Greg Casar (D-Texas), Jayapal's likely successor as CPC chair, said lawmakers want to ensure those funds "start creating jobs before Trump finds some way to just send that money to his friends."
  • Democrats also plan to lean on the Biden administration to fast-track citizenship and residency paperwork for immigrants, Casar said.
  • They are also trying to come up with messaging strategies to bolster Biden's legacy, said Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove (D-Calif.): "Trump is going to inherit a good economy ... [we want to] help educate people about that reality."
Reality check: Biden's executive orders have often run into trouble in conservative-dominated federal courts, and Democrats are limited in what they can do legislatively during the lame duck session due to GOP control of the House.
  • Some Democrats are also sensitive to the perception that they are adopting the tactics of Republican state legislators who used their supermajorities to kneecap incoming Democratic governors.
  • "We're trying to show how the United States is supposed to conduct itself every four years when a new person takes over the reins of government," said Cleaver.
  • "I do think that's important. I want the American public to see, if they've forgotten, just how things are supposed to be ... I know that Biden doesn't want to step over the line."
What's next: Several lawmakers told Axios that the caucuses spearheading this brainstorming are set meet on the subject this week as the House returns to session.
  • "In anticipation of [Trump's] actions, CHC will meet to discuss how best we can protect our communities and hold the incoming administration accountable," said Barragan.
  • Ramirez told Axios: "CHC, CPC and others are going to have a lot of meetings next week to discuss what we end up prioritizing and how much of that can we take to the Dem caucus to ask that they prioritize."

It's a product of your whole electoral two party voting system on a 4 year term. Democrats win. Republicans screw up a bunch of stuff on the way out the door. Democrats take office and spend 2 yrs trying to undo everything. Then spend the next 2 campaigning for the next election. Republicans win that one. So they spend the next 2-3 years undoing everything the democrats fd up on the way out the door then turn their attention to the next election and buying votes. It's a vicious cycle that, sitting on the outside looking in, makes me want to grab my popcorn 🍿 and watch the continual shitshow down south. Not saying our system is perfect by any means but it is quite comical to watch on a global scale. Not to mention all the chest pumping Americans are generally known for shouting "we're the greatest nation there is, ever was, or ever will be. It feeds the whole persona that Americans portray on a global scale. Remember....nobody likes arrogance.

I do not disagree at all, which is why it would be nice to get the libertarian party to be a viable 3rd party at national level. Even if it only held 15% of the house seats it would help keep the other two parties honest.

Not sure that a third party helps, unless it’s set up different than here in Canada where the third party can have the least votes yet yield the most power. What needs to change the most is once the election is over, the losing party needs to be stripped of its power. It’s ludicrous how Biden is throwing a match into the White House as he walks out the door.

I think in the US if the Libertarian Party got a stronger foothold it would help.

They are, in many ways, 'in-between' the GOP and the Democrats. Or, perhaps they USED TO BE in between those two.

But after supporting the Libertarians (and generally aligning with the conservative GOP) for the past 35+ years, I have little hope for the Libertarian party at the NATIONAL level. Gains have been made in several states. On the bright side, many of the populist positions held by Trump/Vance are aligned with the Libertarians.

In the 'good old days':
  • Democrats were the anti-war, but poor foreign policy that got us INTO war, very free speech party, but also big spending on social programs. Party was SPLIT between social liberals who hated USA & social conservatives who were proud of the USA.
  • Republicans were strong defense, strong foreign policy, anti-free speech, fiscal conservatives, social conservatives.
  • Libertarians were strong constitutionalists, strong states rights, strong favor weak centralized power, strongly support lower federal taxes (even if state taxes go up), strong free speech and abortion dyslexia.
Now days:
  • Democrats are full blown socialists who hate capitalism and patriotism. Want to kill babies up to date of birth. Support censorship and total centralized power.
  • Trump Republicans are strong defense, strong foreign policy, low foreign intervention, pro-free speech, fiscal MODERATES, social conservatives, abortion MODERATES. Generally strong states rights for abortion, gun rights, taxes but anti-state's rights for immigration. Generally talk very populist conservative but vote very moderate.
  • RINO Republicans are just what you'd guess. They go along with the Democrats but call themselves Republicans, talk like conservatives and vote like democrats.
  • Libertarians were strong constitutionalists, strong states rights, strong favor weak centralized power, strongly support lower federal taxes (even if state taxes go up), strong free speech and abortion dyslexia.

Ya, we need Canada's system. Two or three cities rule the nation.
Now I'm going to pound my chest...

What’s the difference? You’re not gonna get a bill through Congress in the next 18 days and an executive order is a piece of shit the day leaves.

I don’t think the dims have the votes for anything like that and any executive action can be undone on day one.
So it’s just theatrics

Well I tend to disagree because I think there are a lot of ways he can damage the USA and screw over the incoming administration.

Pardons are one way.

Administrative actions through departments is another, and those are much harder to undo. Even executive orders, depending upon how they are enacted, are often difficult to undo.

This article is a great example, and with a complaint media industrial complex, we have a lot of crap to look forward to in the first 2 years of the next administration. I certainly hope the headwinds created by the intentional undermining are not so strong that they can't be overcome. And I certainly hope the GOP/Trump machinery works overtime to fight back the historic losses incurred during mid-term elections. With Trump we know that we have a "one and done" administration. We can hope & pray that Vance picks up the mantel in 4 years and continues the path, but let's all be honest, Mr Trump can never be duplicated.

Great article below detailing some impending roadblocks and issues for #47 to overcome.

In The Twilight Of A Twilight Presidency...

“Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, in 2024, agreed to play out their roles as uncontactable zombies, baying for the blood of Americans at the altar of a dying Moloch.”
- Celia Farber
I hope that the first lesson of the Bourbon Street massacre is not lost on you: There is no end of opportunity now for Jihadis and other maniacs to attack soft targets across the land.
Americans are sitting ducks. And there is no shortage of jihadis and maniacs at large in our land, thanks to “Joe Biden” and Alejandro Mayorkas.
Do you have any idea how much carnage can be created with what are called small arms, meaning, light weapons, guns, rifles, grenades, and improvised explosives used tactically in public places by enemies of our country? It looks like we are going to find out. And just regular motor vehicles, too, as in New Orleans and Las Vegas. Among the millions of foreign vagabonds ushered across the border illegally are perhaps tens of thousands fanatically avid for mayhem, many of them surely organized into cadres trained to carry out atrocities, just hanging back with their US government-issued debit cards, enjoying DoorDash deliveries in their government supplied hotel rooms, waiting for the signal to activate themselves.
Do you think we can harden the millions of targets out there, make them secure? Forget about it. Many of these are plain old streets in the cities, countless bridges and tunnels, endless runs of railroad track and highway, hundreds of airports, not to mention malls, schools, big box stores, office buildings, restaurants, sports venues, cruise ships, skating rinks, theaters, churches. It would only take a couple-three more episodes like the New Orleans incident to paralyze public life in America just as badly as the Covid-19 op did. Are tourists rushing back to Bourbon Street now? Will they return for Mardi Gras on March 4?
And now, of course, the matter of drones has been brought to your attention. How many thousands (millions?) of these ingenious toys have been sold over recent years. You can walk into Best Buy today and get one, ranging from a couple of hundred bucks to models with advanced guidance electronics at several thousand bucks. Timers are cheap. C-4 and Semtex plastic explosives are easy to purloin from military bases, or just traded on black markets. Drones can be launched from anywhere, including out of windows anywhere. They can be launched in swarms.
You must also imagine that these Jihadis and other maniacs are primed to let loose on the imminently incoming Trump admin. The “Joe Biden” regime years were just the set-up period. Why open up with terror ops and show your hand prematurely while “JB” offered so much free and easy assistance in preparing the battlefield? And anyway, since so much of what “Joe Biden” was up to on his own initiative was obviously damaging to the USA in three dimensions — economically, strategically, and psychologically — then why interrupt all that serendipitous mishchief?
In the twilight of his twilight presidency, “Joe Biden” makes his final moves - that is, the people in the shadows behind “Joe Biden” make their moves - to fortify the progress he made working to destroy his own country, really anything that might hamper Mr. Trump’s ability to correct the deliberate desecration of our national life.
And, of course, to shelter any of those persons responsible from a legal reckoning in the future.
In a most garish example, “JB” awarded the Presidential Citizens Medal to former Rep. Liz Cheney for her role on Congress’s J-6 committee. This, you understand, was done in defiance of what is already known and alleged about the treasonous misconduct of that body — withholding and destruction of evidence, tampering with evidence, coaching witnesses, lying to the media about testimony received, and obstruction of justice. You might lay a conspiracy charge over all those misdeeds, since they involved the formal agreement, discussion, and knowledge of it all among committee members. That is, it was done clearly in concert. This is how The New York Times put it:
The plea there is transparently and obviously mendacious, yet The Times, being the mouthpiece of the nervous DC blob, can’t resist laying out the game: how can you prosecute somebody for acts they’ve been given a presidential award for committing? Of course, a pardon will signal that Liz Cheney is, ipso facto, a criminal. And would “Joe Biden” then have to pardon every member of the J-6 Committee — since, being a conspiracy, are they not all culpable for the same crimes? But then, the J-6 Committee crimes against the people of America comprise only a small portion, a side dish, to the many other crimes committed by the officials working under “Joe Biden.” If he pardons Liz Cheney, won’t this president also have to pardon hundreds of other officials from Mayorkas, Wray, Garland, Fauci, Walensky, Austin, Blinken, Sullivan on down?
“Joe Biden” will no doubt wait until the morning of January 20 to issue those pardons, if he dares to, and he might well include himself in the package as having committed bribery and treason. Since his dementia is not total, he probably has enough brain left to reason fallaciously that the country will be too distracted by the Trump inaugural to notice what he did. He will think that he has acquired magic powers of invisibility. Not to history, of course.
And history will resume at noon on January 20. From that moment on, “Joe Biden” is certified as the most odious villain in our nation’s history.

There is no lack of trying, but except for the pardons, all that crap will get nuked.
Executive Orders cannot be simply undone.

Biden Attempts To Sabotage Trump's 'Drill Baby Drill' With Proposed Ban On New Offshore Drilling In Atlantic, Pacific

As early as Monday morning, President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to ban new offshore oil and gas development across 625 million acres (250 million hectares) of US coastal territory, according to Bloomberg sources. The move comes just weeks before President-elect Donald Trump takes office and could complicate his "Drill, Baby, Drill" policies aimed at boosting domestic fossil fuel production and reversing the de-growth climate policies implemented by radical Democrats.
Bloomberg sources said the executive order prohibits the sale of new drilling rights across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans and the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Simultaneously, Biden will allow new oil and NatGas leasing in the central and western portions of the Gulf of Mexico.
Biden's decision relies on a provision of the 72-year-old Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act. This allows the president to withdraw federal waters from future oil and gas leasing. Section 12(a) OCSLA does not include language that would allow any future presidents to reverse the ban.
"That was tested after President Barack Obama banned offshore drilling in parts of the Arctic Ocean and dozens of canyons in the Atlantic Ocean," the New York Timesnoted, adding, "During his first term in office, Mr. Trump tried to revoke the ban. In 2019, US District Court Judge Sharon Gleason in Alaska ruled that Mr. Obama's ban could not be undone without an act of Congress."

And more. . .
More green agenda sabotage from Biden.

This can not be undone by simple executive order.

John Solomon's JUST THE NEWS website has been covering this evolving story:

Biden bans new offshore drilling, as parting shot in his ‘end fossil fuels’ administration

Biden said in the announcement that the ban was necessary because the "climate crisis continues to threaten communities."

President Joe Biden announced Monday as expected that he is blocking the sale of new oil and gas leases on America’s coastlines.
“As the climate crisis continues to threaten communities across the country and we are transitioning to a clean energy economy, now is the time to protect these coasts for our children and grandchildren,” Biden said in a White House announcement.
The ban effectively applies to all of the country's East and West coastlines, the eastern part of the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska's Northern Bering Sea.
Data from the Statistical Review of World Energy shows that, while the U.S. energy system contains a higher percentage of wind and solar than it did a decade ago, the vast bulk of energy in the U.S. comes from coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear and hydroelectric.
Biden had campaigned on a promise to “end fossil fuels,” and while the U.S. saw record-high production under his administration, critics have argued that the regulatory environment since 2020 has made it more difficult and expensive to produce oil and gas.
The ban will not impact existing oil and gas production from offshore rigs, which accounts for approximately 14% of the total oil and gas production in the U.S.

Alaska's economy is based on exploiting her vast natural resources. Fishing & mining mostly. Their economy runs so well many citizens get paid by the state quite literally just to be there. So what stupid Judge feels the state can do without expandable mining revenue?

Global warming, if true and it isn't, would hardly affect Alaska. Perhaps giving Alaskans an additional slightly warmer afternoon.
This judge is a perfect example of why bad politics will damage a country as it has the lower 48. Frankly such people threaten our economy, our sovereignty, our security & ought to be removed from office by force of law. Drill Baby Drill is not a call to plunder the environment but a directive to utilize the resources available to make human life on the planet, BETTER!

Going to be pretty hard to undo a release of terrorists.

Historically when this has been done, not only by our nation, but also by others, the terrorists party when they reach their homeland and then start plotting and participating in more terror attacks.

Biden Releases Gitmo Terrorists To Oman

In yet another move to tarnish his presidential legacy while channeling his former boss Barack Obama, Joe Biden has authorized the transfer of 11 Gitmo terrorists to Oman. The Middle Eastern nation has agreed to assist with their resettlement and oversee security monitoring.
We've seen this before and we know how it usually turns out.
"The United States appreciates the willingness of the government of Oman and other partners to support ongoing U.S. efforts focused on responsibly reducing the detainee population and ultimately closing the Guantanamo Bay facility," the Department of Defense said in a statement. This transfer leaves a mere 15 detainees at Gitmo. . .

There are quite a few media reports, even right wing sources, saying that it will be very difficult for Trump to undo these Biden orders due to the way the laws are written. NOT all E-O's can be undone with new E-O's, as we found out with many of the Obama E-O's.

Try as he may try as e might but any executive action not ratified by congress will go away the same way on day 1

Try as he may try as e might but any executive action not ratified by congress will go away the same way on day 1
This is UNTRUE

Many passed laws are written so that a President can 'enact' or 'expand' but are also written that makes is legally difficult "undo" what has been enacted or expanded

This is why many executive orders actually can NOT be undone by new executive actions. Many can. Many can not. Those that are based on previously passed law, which allow expansion, typically need congressional action to undo.

We are going to have to agree to dis agree, when Trump gets into office he will turn most back on day one with his own executive orders, what can’t be undone in this manner will be undone in the courts when it’s moved away from liberal district courts. Is the A hole going to cause some delay, yes but in the end it will get turned back.

Something else that can NOT be undone by Executive Order from Trump.

President Joe Biden’s pro-migration border chief has extended temporary amnesty for 850,000 illegal and quasi-legal economic migrants until 2026, further suppressing American wages and spiking their rents.
The 18-month expansion of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) amnesty was announced by outgoing border chief, Alejandro Mayorkas.
The beneficiaries include 234,000 illegal migrants from El Salvador who first got their TPS status after a 2001 earthquake that wrecked their home nation’s economy. The small nation’s economy is now growing amid the successful suppression of gang crime by the nation’s popular President, Nayib Bukele.
So Mayorkas’s press statement blamed bad weather for his refusal to send the economic migrants back home:
El Salvador’s extension of TPS is based on geological and weather events, including significant storms and heavy rainfall in 2023 and 2024, that continue to affect areas heavily impacted by the earthquakes in 2001.
The agency “is automatically extending [work permits] through March 9, 2026,” Mayorkas added.
The mass amnesty declaration also includes 600,000 economic migrants from Venezuela.

Another move by Biden to screw the American taxpayers that can NOT be undone by executive order. Biden worked with government unions to negotiate a policy that guarantees government works can work from home!

If not ratified by congress it can be undone
Congress often gives the President to sign agreements but does not give the President to withdraw from an agreement. So it makes it legally very difficult "undo" some of what has been undone. There are still Obama E-O that remain standing despite attempts in Trumps first term to get rid of them.

And there is more that will be difficult to try to undo.

Following new measures by President Biden much of the U.S. waters around the Bering Strait are now off limits to oil and gas exploration. The ban will likely prove difficult to reverse though upcoming President Trump promised to “unban” it on day one. . .
