Thiokol 1202B in need of belt replacement. What I do know, 8 belts total, five inches each in width. What I don't know and need to know is how long is a factory belt? I have a lead on some belting but wan to check other options.
Any help will be appreciated!

Call Fall line in Reno , they will set you up with the right stuff. The set I did last year was around 5k, plus another 800$ for all new bolts and it took a week with three guys to remove all the old rusty bolts and replace the belts.

So the continuing saga of belts lives on. Certainly there have been successful tracks built with random belting. On the other hand: Having the correct belts will last longer, better service, more warm and fuzzy feelings. SO what makes the correct belts. Temperature they are rated for. The"low" temperature they are rated for leads to stiffness, cracking if operated lower. Radius of bend: every belt has a radius of bend that they should not be operated under (some have temperature vs radius). And covers: Frequently the typical conveyor belt had a thicker top than the bottom. There may be issues with this related to flexing of the grousers which leads to wallowing out of the holes. So depends on your comfort level. I've never heard people complain after buying the "correct" belts. I have heard people complaining of the wrong materials.
