Gone But Not Forgotten
Started off bad the other morning when the wife woke me at 2:20 puking all over the bathroom. Got her cleaned up and moved her to the couch and got her a drink and a popsicle. Noticed she had hives popping on her legs and back. Went back to bed about 4 and at 6 got the call that old Onolee had passed. Went to pour the water for coffee and the wife came walking out and said she felt dizzy. Bam! She fell on the arm of the wooden dining room chair and then hit the floor hard. My rescue training kicked in and I got the BP cuff on her as well as the pulse ox. All seemed normal and she did not want me to call an ambulance. Got her back on the couch and she stayed there except when I helped her to the bathroom. Tuesday morning she was hurting bad and agreed to go to the hospital. They diagnosed her with an allergic reaction to the heavy duty antibiotics the doc put her on for her pneumonia. She broke a rib and they put her on IV benadryl for the hives and morphine for the pain. She is still there and won't get turned loose till morning. We have services for Onolee tomorrow at 2 so I hope they got our point today. I have been running my ass off taking care of the old woman's cats and all our critters plus the greenhouses and keeping the boiler fired hard with these cold ass temps.
