Beaver took out my power today!

muleman

Gone But Not Forgotten
I guess this is part of rural living. Was putting the batten strips on my new greenhouse to get ready for winter today. About 10:20 this morning saw would not run. Tried lights in greenhouse and they were off so I head to the basement to check breaker. No lights there also. Come to find out after calling in that it was going to be a few hours till they could restore power. Seems a beaver up the road had knocked the wires down and it was in a most unhandy place to repair. They have been rebuilding that dam for the past 5 years and the town highway dept. has had to put a bigger pipe under the road as it actually makes two ponds with the road crossing through it. They have torn out the dam at least a half dozen times and they always rebuild it. They seem to like the trees in that area quite well.

punch a hole in the lodge and poure in a small amoount of muriatic acid no beavers will come around for 3 to 4 years

"Beaver took out my power today!"

Is that what they're calling it these days or is that an Amish saying?

Anyway, hope that beaver is worn out for your sake. You're old and I wouldn't want you to be over-extenuating yourself.

BTW, should this be moved to the MLR?

Damn them dam building beavers.:hammer: A guy could possibly get along with them if they didn't knock the power off.

They flood my trails and every year it seems I have to make atleast one new trail on higher ground. Never have lost any power . I did make one into jerky a few years back.
We found out that they will not block a suction pipe from deeper water.

get a fur harvesters lic. and have fun:smile:
Well the old woman who live by there won't let anyone hunt or shoot around there. She actually laid down in front of the dozer when the town tried to widen the road by her place. So we have 1 1/2 miles of good wide road that chokes down to a single lane for about 800 ft. by her place. I hope when we get a new roadmaster next year they will let the sheriff arrest her and let them do their job.
