bdar is a military term for jerry rigging they actualy have kits and manuals for this stuff bdar is to get you home or through a mission til you can fix it right. I had a problem the other night on the way home my st4 develiped a knock when i pulled the engine i found out what happened when m snow trac was converted they had used the 180mm fly wheel. they will bolt to a 1600 crank but don't fit exatly right and as i found out can come loose this took out the dowl pin holes in the crank and fly wheel. I also have been concerned about the excessive end play i the crank shaft most likely due to a floating main bearing wich will require a new line bore, i found a guy in wasillia that has cases and cranks he is putting to gether a lower end for me will be done in about 2 weeks in the mean time i didnt want to park the snow trac so i tried sme belsona 1111 epoxy, the stuff is great once it hardens you can machine it like steel for an experiment. I will see how long it works in this aplication try to give some up dates and when i tear the engine down ill take some photos of how it stood up.

Might have played a part in your starter troubles. If the thing was loose the engagement would vary as it was turning over. Good luck!

up date 4 hours of running time 15 miles and pulled a half burried cj7outof a snow drift and the fly wheel is still on with no oil leakage .
