Perhaps the sport of choice determines class?

A causual observation:

Basketball is the choice of the Urban Poor
Bowling is the choice of Maintenance level workers
Football is the choice of of Line workers
Baseball is the choice of Supervisors
Tennis is favorite of Middle managers
And golf is the sport of Corporate Executives

It would seem the higher one goes in the structure, the smaller balls you have.
