Baling hay

Must be grass hay? We've been thinking about doing the same here BTW..Not much was bailed in the season.

Regards, Kirk

We turned the cows into the hay pasture over a month ago. We got 3 cuttings and don't need any more this year. Looking at the hay pasture a few days ago we could have almost got a fourth cutting. After the past two years when we really didn't get any, there's hay everywhere in East Texas this year. The cows will be happy this winter!!!!

I would worry about freezing out if it is too short this close to winter. Do you have temps warm enough to dry it?

What's that new spray on chemical that allows you to bale the hay when it's still a bit wet (that keeps it from rotting)?

it seems something like that would raise hell with the cows digestive system.
I don't know what it is. If it's something like beet juice (like you use to fill your tractor tires), it wouldn't hurt them.
