Any of you ever experience this?
I got an automated call from my bank informing me that my account was frozen on sunday due to a suspicious transaction. I immediately called my bank to see wtf was going on. I was informed by the rep that it was most likely due to a faulty debit machine and as a default any card that used that debit machine would be automatically frozen. Here's the kicker. I didn't use my bank card for a week prior. So I went in to the bank today when I had a chance to cancel the old debit card and get a new one. They look at my account and discover that an atm withdrawal of $325.47 was done yesterday at an atm in S Michigan. When I went to the bank, there were four other people in line waiting for the same thing.
There was also a news alert of debit card fraud occuring in the city over the past week. I went to use my other debit card I have from a separate institution only to discover that it was also frozen. Not due to a lack of funds in the account. So far no suspicious transactions have occurred with that one. Needless to say I'm a little pissed. My bank says that I will get the money back but not the point. Some lowlife POS is gonna get away with stealing money from honest people.
