ATM fraud

Any of you ever experience this?

I got an automated call from my bank informing me that my account was frozen on sunday due to a suspicious transaction. I immediately called my bank to see wtf was going on. I was informed by the rep that it was most likely due to a faulty debit machine and as a default any card that used that debit machine would be automatically frozen. Here's the kicker. I didn't use my bank card for a week prior. So I went in to the bank today when I had a chance to cancel the old debit card and get a new one. They look at my account and discover that an atm withdrawal of $325.47 was done yesterday at an atm in S Michigan. When I went to the bank, there were four other people in line waiting for the same thing.

There was also a news alert of debit card fraud occuring in the city over the past week. I went to use my other debit card I have from a separate institution only to discover that it was also frozen. Not due to a lack of funds in the account. So far no suspicious transactions have occurred with that one. Needless to say I'm a little pissed. My bank says that I will get the money back but not the point. Some lowlife POS is gonna get away with stealing money from honest people. :hammer::hammer::hammer:

I would say your bank has been hacked... Banks have security officers now days to keep them safe in this day and age of the internet, and money transferers that can now happen electronically. I know of a bank that opened one day to fine $1.5M of bank funds gone over night.

Keep in touch with the bank and it's security personal. It is about the only thing you can do for now, untill they get their issues delt with...

Of course I have enough money for them to steal. I'm not not an american having to pay for a mandated mediocre health care system, after all.:poke::poke::poke:

Yeah we know, healthcare is Completely Free (?????) in Canada.

BTW, the other day I had to wait almost an hour for my MRI 'cause a plane load of Canucks were in front of me. Seems it takes months to get a free one on your side of the border.

Since you all know each other on that side of the line,,,,I asked them to say "Hey!" when they got back.

Even tho the end transaction is the same, I've always abhorred using credit cards in favor of the debit card. But nowadays, the protection offered with a credit card may be the way to go.

Of course the vendors hate it, because they get whacked a 2.5% swipe fee on every credit card transaction. Just imagine the money VISA and MASTERCARD make on us fools. Not only do they charge the user hefty interest, but also a swipe fee to the vendor. Just imagine. Skimming 2.5% off every one of the billions of credit card purchases every day.

Bastards. Greedy 'effin bastards. Even as a devote free-market capitalist, I hate the 1%, too.

Thankfully my bank reimbursed me. Apparently I was not alone. Hundreds of people where I live had their accounts compromised.

We wouldn't have that system if we didn't have so many ignorant people who voted for the affirmative action, socialist porch monkey who never worked a day in his life, as well as the communists that the same people put in Congress. You're real luck yours is free. i'm thinking of retiring up there so I can some free shit too. What else are they giving away? Any free lunches?:poke::yum:
