I have a daughter that plays the piano pretty good. My wife can play some but never plays. I also have a couple of nieces that play the piano also. When they come around they usually will end up playing for about an hour or so. When they do I typically drop everything I am doing and when I say drop that means everything including all the crap and worries on my mind. I am so at Peace when that Piano is being played.
Steve, I know where you're coming from.
I come from a musical family and piano is soothing.
Dad played the cello well, all of us kids in the family were encouraged to be musical.
We had to go through the piano lessons when we were young.
To this day I still plink around on a piano when I am near one (and I play well.. didn't really need lessons from the cat lady
)
In my first marriage we owned one of those old upright pianos that we kept tuned, and I loved playing Bach, Mozart, Joplin and sometimes random stuff in order to entertain people we had over for parties.
I taught Tyler to play, but Jeff was like me and played by ear.
I miss music nights when I'd play Mom and Dad's piano, Dad would be on cello.. my sis would be playing the flute, then the ex or my brother would be playing the guitar.
That was a good thing to enjoy during the holidays.
Our family song for music night was Come Saturday Morning-
