I sent a pair dry, clean and super well packed small engine cylinder heads off on August 31 to Helotes, Texas for valve guides and resurfacing. They made it to Boise, and then off to Texas. They sat in Helotes Texas for three days, and then were sent back to Boise, sat in Boise for another three days , and then were sent off to Utah and now after 11 days in route they are sitting in Boise again in a container headed back to me in McCall Idaho. We are in deep S#*¥.

actually . . . not infrequently the manufactures / distributor / whatall . . . put stickers with bar codes on product packages . . . which get read by the USPS scanners in their automated system. the scanner looks up the "wrong package number" in the database and sends the package off to mysterious places . . .

I'm always careful to obliterate all 'pre-existing' bar codes so there's nothing to read/scan but the USPS tracking number.

consulted/worked in a joint that shipped 600,000 pkgs a week....I've seen USPS do every variety of screw-up you can imagine, and twice as many as you cannot imagine . . .

AI is a bad joke.
90% of the population no longer has any common sense to begin with...these clowns then try to build a system and program it. If the people who build it are idiots, then the system will be pathetic.
Most of the people who do have a good amount of common sense, are in trades, not programmers.
They build your home, wire and plumb it.

The latest info. Can't wait to see if it sticks around.

"Your item arrived at our USPS facility in MCCALL, ID 83638 on September 12, 2023 at 8:53 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination."

This weekend I ordered a radar detector. Early Monday my credit card denied the charge as a possible "fraud" and sent me an email + text. So Monday morning I processed the order again, after notifying the credit card company that it was a legit charge. Today (Tuesday) it arrived before lunchtime. I selected "standard ground" shipping not express shipment, no extra fees, no urgent or overnight delivery, etc. Literally arrived 28 hours after I placed the order, standard shipping. UPS.

If I used USPS it would probably arrive in mid-December, routed through Nashville, Boise, Albuquerque and then Yonkers, NY.

and it's back to Boise😳. Cliff...Cliff Calvin- you still on the job?

I ship thousand of packages a month. Ups or FedEx only.

No smart post either which is USPS last mile. Far too many missed scanned and endless tracking results of out for delivery with the federales.
