Went tonight to see the 3D Christmas Animation. As a story Line and animation it was ok....

But what really pissed me off is throughout the entire movie about "Santa Clause", not once was their a "HoHoHo", nor was there a "Merry Christmas", it was all "Happy Christmas". This political correctness is just Bull Crap.

Basically I wouldn't reccomend it, this is just one more nail in the coffin of PC...

Clearly Santa is a cherished for Christmas as an icon, it doesn't step in any religious doctrines, the Church of your choice can fill in the blanks as far as your beliefs. But this movie just flat pissedme off!

I just Googled the trailer for the film.
Didn't see anything that would have made me even want to go see it in the first place.
A bit of kiddy Hollywood crapola.
Much like most of the stuff that comes out around the holidays.

Give me The Bells Of St. Mary's- It's A Wonderful Life, An Affair To Remember, and The Homecoming... that thing of The Waltons.

What is the difference between Merry Christmas and Happy Christmas?

Nothing.
We say Merry Christmas here in the states.
While I was living in England, the standard greeting was Happy Christmas, and is the same in many parts of the world.

Why is happy Christmas more politically correct? I have never heard that.

I don't think it has anything to do with being PC.. but as you know, I am a ditz..

It seems to make a difference to Foggy, I was just askin.

I didn't read what Foggy said. I started from the end and was working to the first post and saw your question. I guess I should learn to start from the first post. :bonk::bonk:

OH, no problem, I was just trying to figure out what he was talking about.

When you make a movie/product marketed for America, or any other Country, you need to spend a little time on doing a tad bit of research on what it is.

Chevy built the highly sucessful "Nova" car, sold very well! Then they tried to market it in Mexico and South America! Sales were dismal, turns out "Nova" in Spanish means "No Go".

This movie is based on the American Version of "Santa", but they didn't do their homework very well.

You were making sure I was behaving, weren't you?:good:

Believe that at your peril.

The greeting that I am used to is, "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year".

Personally, I wouldn't get offended either way.
