One of a kind item, its called an ACT or Archimedean Screw Tractor, its designed to go over snow, ice, water, swamp or virtually any surface except hard surface roadway. It weighs 10 tons, carry’s 5 people, and is normally used for any kind of exploration work, but would be the perfect “true ATV”. Mitsui built 2 units however to my knowledge this is the only one left for someone looking for a true one of a kind. It needs a little TLC but it's all there and can run again.
My unit is a 1985, and in good condition, new it cost close to $500,000.
Its special amphibious design makes it makes it almost indispensable to any kind of arctic/sub arctic research, data acquisition or exploration project. As a support vehicle in these conditions it is unmatched, and will easily provide safe, comfortable travel to, from, or on the ice pack. This unique machine can actually pull itself up on an ice shelf from open water.
As this equipment is truly “one of a kind”
