I learned a lot about over the snow machines this winter. This snowless winter was less than ideal but I did manage to get some hours of quality catting in.

I am looking for a sno trac in less than perfect condition. The international shipping involved with that machine in France was a little out of my abilities. Projects are fine. I am not a purist so home made upgrades are A ok with me.

I am also seeking a larger machine for grooming trails. I need to pull a 10' arrowhead drag for a sustained period of time.
I am kind of leaning towards a brake steer machines and tuckers.
I am open to Sno masters for this task, but I am not sure they have the grunt?

I am open to partial trades.
If you are down sizing. (I have a diesel powered bombi)
I have a full bodied imp with blade and xc tracksetter.
I have choice of gas or diesel powered 15 passenger quigley vans.

mike i havn't herd much from couch loafer lately might pm him also i think boggie picked up one not to long ago might pm him i talked with a guy today about a thiokol 2100 im not certain im ready to bite on it yet as there are some shipping issues that i have to look into but i would expect to be rich enough in the next 30 days to afford it i don't know if the 2100 will work for you as they are s wide you would have to remove the tracks and blade to move it not a problem for me as i just drive it every place up here a tucker would be nice if you have to trailer good traction tough and easy to trailer might also check with boggie i think he has a few br 120's stock a nice size machine for trail grooming the 2100's are a monster but would work good for my intended use as they can pull a load which is what i need to be able to do

Right on don, I figured there might be a couple of unadvertised machines around. thanks for the heads up.

I feel like a tire kicker when I call around looking at various resellers. I don't mind a finders fee but some of the reseller mark ups are interesting.

also; that 2100 that 540 Central has listed is just 3-4 hours away... I observed the detracking and loading of a 2100 when I bought my bombi. If you need a set of eyes to go look at it and touch things I will make time.

Mike there is a 1978 tucker 1642 about 45 miles from me 9500 obo I can go look for you 318 w/allison auto if you want # call me or pm

Thanks Dick, If I go tucker I am going to go diesel and try for rubber tracks.

I may call you anyway, I have snowmobile club questions.

Mike

look on ksl.com/classifieds and search for snowcat. Several listed including a Krusty at appears to be running on snow

That 1642 would pull your drag without breaking a sweat and while it's not diesel, there are enough 318's out there to keep that thing running forever. And on the cheap.

Here is an update:

My search for a snow trac has been fun, they are out there. My turn will come.
any one have a variator they want to sell?

My search for a larger pulling machine turned up a couple of interesting machines a Diesel tucker local to me is leading the pack of prospects. The other end is a very affordable Diesel ski dozer also sort of close to me. The desire to go diesel is fuel availibility, there are fuel tanks out around the county trails, if I go gas I am at the mercy of (well there is no fuel) Luck.

The funny part is I now own a Liquid to air cooled VW adapter plate and a VW bus transmission.......

Unless that is being resold, It was posted here forsale from WA. it sold in about one week.

Had a nice compilment of spare parts.

The seller had the outer belts yet and that was a nice touch.
At the time it was listed I was chasing another pair of masters.

Thanks for the heads up.

Mike

Since then He has done some nice work to the side rails and or fenders.
Look close int he photos you can see the fenders are black now and a bit more square.

Thanks for the leads and hunting/shopping help, we have some great members here and I appreciate the assistance.

During this quest I did wind up with a master but I don't have the heart or *lack of* to hook a Medium or large drag to it. It is built very well and I intend to keep it that way. I wound up with a tucker from Koz's site. Practically right in my back yard and a really cool owner who understood....

I no longer have a High powered Bombi. (I recommend this upgrade)
I have a full bodied imp with blade and xc tracksetter.
I could trade this imp for a really nice 601 but I can't do it....
I have choice of gas or diesel powered 15 passenger quigley vans.
They are still here and the diesel one got a work out this summer.

Mike

I am done shopping for a while. Funny how it all worked out.

Thanks again to all who made my odyssey a reality:flowers:
