is that an actual slate for the roof, or just a piece of linoleum or vinyl?
either way, nice design and good work!
 
It is slate, I had spares when I had to have my house re-roofed. They don't discolour on the roof, I wonder why they do when they stand in the garden?

What cuckoo bird, it isn't a clock? I have two clocks where a sheep comes out and bleats on the hour and one clock that has a hen who comes out and cackles as though she has laid an egg, but no cuckoo clock,
