alternative to tucker OEM wheels?

my 1994 tucker 2000 was converted to one off the first rubber track systems.but whoever did the conversion didnt buy the double wheel that goes on the rear off each boogie ,and without it the single wheel causes the track to bend inward under the pull from the sprocket breaking the fiberglass rods in the $600. tracks .. i called tucker and they confirmed yes your track will break and the double wheels you need are $1900. plus shipping each.
Someone tell me there is an alternative to this unreasonable price.?

If were my machine I would take it to a local machine shop/ welding shop and see if they coudn't fab up something that would do the job for alot less. With out seeing pics or drawing of what exactly you need, hard to say though. But I have a feeling my guys could make it..

Regards, Kirk

im tempted to just bolt angle iron on top of the tracks, defeats the purpose of having rubber tracks though, but it should save the tracks

left click on 300 H&H and a box will apear. Three down is sending e mails...

Or maybe a Tucker part number would help too.

Did you ask Tucker if they had any used ones?

Some firms and governmental agencies send their machines to Tucker for overhaul and want them returned in (mechanically speaking) "like new" condition. That means replacing some parts that still have a lot of life left in them. Perhaps they may have some used ones at a much lower cost?

You could also check if either Track, Inc. in Minnesota (mid-west Tucker dealer) or GetSno Equipment in Vermont (east coast Tucker dealer) have any used wheels in serviceable condition. Another option is SnoTrans in ID.

And you might try posting a wanted ad on resortboneyard.com.

yes, i called tucker in vermont , the service guy there Paul. was wonderful, gave me a full education in tucker evolution. but didnt have any alternative only the $1900. wheels
