What the fuck is wrong with people? Had to add another shop to the 'Tell 'em to fuck off' list this morning.
Wait, lemme back up a bit: There are a few shops around where I live, that I will stop at on my time to drop parts off, or whatever, instead of paying the delivery guy to run the truck all the way out here, effectively costing the company more than we make on a particular deal, through hourly pay and fuel for the rig, ect. So I will stop after work, or even on my way in to work in the mornings, to deliver parts or pick up core returns.
OK back to the subject at hand. I stopped in to one this morning to grab a core return on my way through. Dude asks me if I have a credit slip for him. Of course I don't. Firstly, we don't do ANY credits until we physically have the part back at the shop. Secondly, I don't work out of my fucking house, so how would I have a credit slip for you? All the regular shops by now know the procedure, when we get a return, we send out a check in the mail, and since the physical credit slip is processed differently than the check, we drop that off next time we are there. According to this guy, we never give him his slips, ect, yadda yadda yadda. I said 'you get your check, right?" "Well yeah" "Then, shut the fuck up, what's the problem?!" No other shop complains about this, and it ain't no different than other dealerships. Only difference is WE actually go the extra mile to keep our shop customers happy. And this guy has the fuckin' stones to ride me about not having his credit slip? Nuh-uh that doesn't sit well at all. So I put him on the 'tell 'em to fuck off' list, because that's going to be my response from now on, when my other parts guy asks me if I can make a stop at their shop. We have shops from around the area that use us, even when the other Volvo dealer is down the street from them, because we do the extra shit to keep them happy and earn their business. And, no susprise, we are almost always #1 in customer satisfaction.
It just pisses me off when somebody pulls this shit with me, especially when I stop on my own time to do something for them. Welp, no longer. When the appreciation for my time stops, so does my service.
