A trip to my hunting camp in Big Bay Michigan

My girlfriend and I spent the weekend at my hunting camp in the hills near Big Bay Michigan. The camp is called Lost Creek Camp and was built in 1946. We love winter camping and having the Thiokol 601 makes it so much easier. I originally used M29C weasels to get into camp in winter but the 601 is a much nicer ride. Fun:clap:

Great camp !! I love the saw blades

How far do you get to drive the 601 to reach your camp ?

That is neat I cant get to my camp in the winter (that is how I found this site looking for ideas)

The upper elevations 2100 ft have snow and ice 1/2 way down the mountain it will be dirt to the bottom 600ft. I have had to run the snow mobile 5 miles on frozen dirt doesn't work well.

The saw blades are cool. They are sections of band saw blades. My father asked the the guy who had built the camp what the saw blades were for. The guy said bears, they put their paws on the glass, slide down on the teeth of the blades it hurts, usually scares them off. The trip in isn't very long, about 1/4 of a mile. There are a lot of unplowed logging trail to explore. We get a little over 300 inches of snow a year there.

very impressive machine and camp, iv seen alot of bear guards before but thats a really cool idea thanks for posting enjoyed it ..
