Damn. She waited 6 years for a knee replacement then got this treatment?!?!?
For what I've received as "routine" surgeries (hip replacement, kidney surgery, screws/pins on broken bones, orthoscopic surgeries...) it's normally a few weeks of wait time.

Typical of socialist medical. The young ones that have earning potential come first. Old people last. Expendable. Maybe they will die before somronr actually has to fix them.

Like I’ve said, our “free” healthcare is bad and getting worse. Just read an article in our local paper, Manitoba has the longest wait times in Canada. Here’s the article, it doesn’t mention the doctor and nursing shortage. Much of this was brought on by trying to force the workers to get the covid shot, get it or lose your jobs, many just walked out.

Not necessarily. I know lots of younger people waiting for different things, life threatening things are the priority. I had to go to the hospital when I was around 30, in terrible abdominal pain, told I was going to get an emergency colonoscopy....... got in 8 months later. Turned out I was over worked and basically burned out, severely dehydrated and my body said it’d had enough. Who knew working 18-20 hours a day would do that to a guy 🤷‍♂️.

My experience is my wife's experience growing up in Soviet Poland.
Even after they became sovereign, the only way to get care for the elderly, her mom, meant greasing some palms. She needed medical attention and it wasn't going to happen. Fixed that with some Zloty
Fortunately, the exchange rate was very favorable at the time and then we got her mom into, what would be considered here, a very luxurious retirement home.
