Hi Guys,
Its been along time since Ive been around. I have been pretty busy at work and finally have some time to check out my new (to me) 4T10. Thanks to Bobcat I am now the owner of this beautiful (again...to me ) 4T! For all you guys that keep PMing me about how bad Bobcat is I have to say "not true". He felt so bad about buying his (now) 601 that he bought this 4T for me. Hell he even picked it up and dropped it off at my house! Thanks Bob! Ok here are a few pictures.

I will be cutting the tracks off tomorrow morning. The grousers are in pretty good shape! The drive sprockets arent to bad either.

She's a very nicely original rig...that dash is quite pure. Nice early 4T!
I assume you're going to swap out the divider for a nice OC-12... if you do, please buzz me about the power divider coming this way of the Mississippi.
Bobcat made up huge with the 4T gift... he's not quite *that* bad... he's also not *that* bad given he has a 601...but we just have to get him to free up his grip on those Krusty's so he'll have truly angelic status by purging the bad. ;)

Snowcat Ops..

Just a novice here wanting to learn....the suspension of the boogies are tied together by a rod that goes to where? Looks like a small hydrolic cylinder connected to the linkage. This machine cann't lift it self to a higher operating position for deep snow can it? Just wondering.:whistling:

From what I have been reading and learning here, I thought Kristies were the only machine that can do this.......:ermm:
Or are there just spings in the "cylinders" as I see no hydrolic lines...
Thanks, Kirk

Nice toy SnowOps! I hope to see some action videos once you get it running. :thumb:

Now for all this talk about some guy named Bobcat and how wonderful he is . . . sounds like a bunch of butt kissers to me. Last I heard this reclusive Bobcat character was getting ready to hide out in a trailer in the boonies somewhere.:excl:

Great pictures of the new rig... Can't wait to see how the restoration progresses! What year is it - my old eyes couldn't quite make it out on the plate? And yes that dash is very nice reference for working on mine!

Hey BigAl! Long time no hear from. Hows your project going?
Which Project ? Working on KT3 tracks . Working on Idaho Barn as time allows , Headed to Panama 3/1 , Headed to Haiti on 6/1 , back to Idaho after that . ! busy busy busy :w00t2:.

I believe those are just for adjusting the tension of the tracks. MAINER would know for sure. I do not know all that much about these 4Ts yet. Yesterday was my first time inside the cat! Today i will be removing the tracks. I will then be able to see some more details.

The dash did surprise me as well! She is a 1961.

Just for you Mouse Ear ! Here's a updated picture

Well I just finished cuting the chains and upper tracks off my 4T10. I found the reason why she stopped working all those years ago! The front left (drivers side) wheel bearing grenaded! The man Bob bought it from told me that when it stopped working (he was a kid) that it stayed there all winter and they trailered it back back in the summer. There she sat until I found her and told BOBCAT. I new he was looking. Now she is mine.

OK here are the plans. I will be sticking an OC12 in her. I have an OC12 but Snowcat Pat is getting that one. Its a straight axle unit and I want more ground clearance. I am looking for a drop down axle OC-12. I will be selling the entire lower half of the 4T10 This will include Engine. Transmission, Power divider, rear diffs (which have ZERO play in them!) and the tub. Also the entire suspension minus the grousers since they are in excellent shape, minus the rims and tires. And I will keep the drive sprockets. My plan originally was to sell the tracks and tires. But the grousers and back plates are in almost new condition! The rims are also in new condition. The tires will of course be replaced. This will make it easy for someone to come here and load the entire rolling chassis onto a trailer! You will need to bring four rims with the same bolt pattern or bring me 4 new rims without tires.

Just finished up changing out one of the tires. Nice to have had a spare on the side of the rig! All the tires are now filled with air and the tracks are now clear. Tomorrow I will see if I can maneuver the trailer around into my back yard. I will have to do some plowing with my DMC but hopefully I can get everything aligned up so I can winch her off the trailer.
