When skiing with full gear we limit it to 6. Cabin has Dodge van bench seats so more people would fit. I figure about 300 pounds per person when including skis, boots, packs, etc so 6 people is getting pretty close to a 2,000 pound load once you add in tools, extra fuel & stuff.

Mtncrawler, very nice looking Spryte. :thumb: Is it a new addition to your fleet? What engine, transmission set up does it have? Have you done any mods to improve the Spryte for your use? How many miles/hours do you put on the snow cat when out on a typical powder skiing trip?

Not business, some people have a boat... We've been using this particular machine since '96. I'd guess about 200 Hrs/Year. Has a car 200 cu. in. 6 instead of the 170 industrial. The cabin is a little spartan but suits us well. Nothing special inside but drink holders, baskets, and plenty of hooks. Had carpeting but pulled it out because once it gets wet it gets heavy. Other than that it's a stock A-Model Spryte.

New powder last wednesday. This was my first Snowcat. A buddy of mine still owns it so it's still in the "Family".

mtncrawler that looks like a mid sixties 1201 sprite. With a custom built top cab??....I like the one piece windshield:respect: Whats the story with the cabin?

Some early A-Model Sprytes were flat nosed, like this one. Some even had little narrow oval windows on both sides of the windshield. This is a factory full cab with a 3" spacer at the body seam for a litle more headroom. The front doors were lengthened and and a second window installed. A mid door was added and a larger fuel tank was relocated under the mid seat. Otherwise mostly stock A-Model.

Cool looking cats there Mtncrawler! Where were you cattin' and skiing last week, Vail Pass? What is the width on those Sprytes, can you trailer them without being oversized load? What do you tow them with at 11,000'? I have a 3/4 ton GMC with a 454 V-8 for my needs.

I'm still working the snows of Grand County; usually skiing until June 1 there. I also skiied the backcountry behind Eldora last Sat., pretty warm...no shirt at 9am!
