JJ Kane auctions in dixon ca. Has two 2011 tucker 800 hr. Machines

Interesting...
CHUGSzilla is an ex-PG&E Tucker. I am a firm believer in the concept that ex-utility company snowcats are the ones to buy. They tend to get few hours, and they are typically maintained with an open checkbook philosophy. Of the five Tuckers I've bought, that one was in the best shape.
That blade would have been a U-blade, so it is seriously damaged. I have no specific knowledge, but I shudder to think what a new blade from Tucker would cost.
The other machine has fewer hours and a straight blade that has some damage on the left side at the bottom. That listing says 8'. The machine is 8' wide, so if you angle the blade it will be narrower than the snowcat?

The listing description for the first machine says Cummins 12.7L Diesel. Yeah, but if you look at the data sheet it says "QSB 4.5L 130 HP Tier 3". Basically a Cummins 4BT. The little brother of the 6BT made popular in Dodge pickups. Tier 3 is an emissions standard. The second Tucker has the same engine.
Both machines have 5.86:1 ring and pinion ratios, and are equipped with Eaton E-Lockers. Those are nice... and $$$$.
RedSqwrl can speak far more knowledgeably about the Terra Tracks than I, but I do know they are jaw-droppingly expensive if you need to replace one.
No guarantees of course, but snowcats sold in June usually go for substantially less money than those sold during fall and winter.
