1954 Tucker 443 on ebay

They were looking for $10K for that on Craig’s list a few weeks ago. Can only imagine how high the reserve is.

The track on the one adjustable pontoon looks mint. Triangular cross bars and almost every connector link is straight. The links in the other tracks are pretty bent (adjusted) though. And some are really bent while others are almost straight on the other tracks, which makes me wonder just how well they are riding on the sprockets. They also have tubular cross bars, some of which appear slightly bent.

Two of those tracks are also missing at least one link, so you have to wonder how long it’s been moving around like that. If someone here buys it, I have a couple of links to at least get it mobile. It looks pretty solid, but not $10K solid. :ermm:

Looks like it didn't meet reserve at $3500. Relisted...
I agree that it does have some issues that need resolved.

I appreciate the feedback on the '54 Tucker, I did have one unanswered question buried in my first post. Can you retrofit a pontoon with track adjusters? Or do you have to have pontoons designed with adjusters? Thanks.

I'm sure you could fabricate the adjusters to work, but it could turn into a real job.

The rail that the rollers ride on on the non-adjustable pontoons is welded to the pontoon all of the way around. You would have to cut and remove the appropriate amount rail to install the adjuster section while leaving the pontoon seat section intact. The much bigger problem is those adjusters have multiple bolt anchor points on each side to hold the rail in place. You would have to find a way to keep the adjuster rails from trying to 'walk' back to the seated position once adjusted.

If that thing was on the east coast I'd go look at it. We do have the machine shop equipment to make / fab up nearly anything so I could make my own adjusters. My biggest problem is just time. My projects tend to drag out years if not decades. I still have a new axle kit for that high tech motocross trailer I'm going to build some day hehe. This is like 10 years ago. I bought a toyota 4x4 pick-up truck instead to haul the thumper, which then became a project in itself

Pic of our new steel racking we managed to finish up in last January
I purposly made sure it got fresh orange paint :
