1743 Tucker

I've found a 1743 Tucker for sale. It has the full body with the 2 barn doors on the back. Owner sayes it has Detroit engine with allison transmison. Winch mounted inside with flarehead out the back. Havn't received any pictures yet, so can't post at this time. I'm told tracks are in good shape, needs fuel lines, steering ram leaks & needs new headliner. Whats' it worth?

From the description you provided that's not a "standard" 1743.

Tucker did offer a wider and longer cab option that had twin ambulance style doors in the back, a substantially longer wheelbase and a wider cab with a two piece windshield.

The Detroit Diesel would be a 4-53, and while that would have been an extra cost option at the time, I would say it's perceived as a negative in terms of desirability.

My impression is their application is somewhat limited (due to their size) and they tend to bring less money than a "standard" 1743 or 1643. My recollection is Sno Trans had a pretty nice looking one for sale a couple of years ago and it was priced around $12K. That's considerably less than a 1643 or "standard Cab" 1743 in similar condition.

No I bought a 1344 from Bill @ Sno trans. I think that 1743 will be for sale for awhile. It's near Sicamous, British Columbia

Sorry to take so long to reply, I was picking up my 1344 Tucker from Sno-Trans. Here's the number 250-318-1652. He maybe a little hard to get a hold of, Text message seemed to work. He wanted $20,000.00 I told him that was to steep. Good luck
