1404 IMP shift badge/tag

Hi All , Iam looking for a picture of the trans shift pattern tag that is riveted to the engine cover , as mine has been removed before i got the imp . I have a fiber laser machine and would like to make one that resembles the original . Thanks .

I’m getting to know the machine to see what it needs. It was used on a ranch, stored in a barn & only used every 10 years when the big blizzards hit. So far ive given it a carburetor kit, valve adjustment, new plug wires, new heater core. Brake band inspection & adjustment, & ordered a new set of bogey bearings & seals. Some are squeaky lol.

Hi Wyfler and welcome. I have a 1404 that just started and heater core started leaking. Do you have a part number for the one you replaced and perhaps a source? Thanks

Dumb question, but I feel like this is just the perfect place and time to ask.
What is the lower gearing selection for the transmission and differential?

Is it just 1 and 1, or something else?

What would be a general good flat terrain gearing selection to choose?

Lowest gearing would be 1/1 unless reverse happened to be a lower ratio then R/R which would actually still be a forward motion gear would be the lowest. I personally leave the rear end in 2 then shift through the regular trans and its gets me through 80% of what I need. If I stop on a hill in deep snow or am trying to pull anything I will put the rear end in 1.
