DMC 1450 Track Tensioner Question

I've read on the forums here that to increase the tension on the tracks of a 1980 DMC-1450 I just grease at the port. Is that it? The manual says to remove the hairpin and adjust the jackscrew to the desired tension. The problem is there is no visible hairpin to remove, just the grease port, and a big ass bolt about 14 inches in front of the port.

Can't help you but sure wish someone would come forward with a means to update a 1404 tensioner system to what's used on the 1450.
Count yourself lucky that you don't have to unlace your tracks just to adjust the tension.
