Problems losing cogs off drive wheels...

So I thought my left side drive wheel was losing teeth b/c of wear, replaced it but still almost lost one ear. Turns out the cleat was so worn it became a knife edge that was cutting the drive wheels. I forgot to get pics of the worn out cleats before welding, but you can get the idea.

I welded 3/8 round stock to restore the material worn...






I took a pic of some worn out cleats...these are not to the point that cut my teeth, but hey will get more material this coming Summer!

Those grousers are almost used up, you may want to have a short piece of
Number 6 or 7 rebar or ( smooth ) cut and place in the center of the cleat and weld both sides
Or find some used tracks if you do not want to weld them all

That's what I did with the round stock, that last pic shows the one I welded in front of the ones that I am worried about. I guess I have my work cut out for me next Summer when I will have the time to weld 50+ of them!
And I thougth my Jeep was the money pit!
