The controls on my T4 have been modified.
I do not have a steering wheel. So the switches that should be on the
steering wheel have been relocated. If you still have the wheel, there
should be a push button on the upper left end of the wheel. That is S24, the
reverse driving switch. Bring the vehicle to a stop, then push the button.
My reverse switch is now mounted on the floor under my left foot. Looks
like a headlight high/low beam switch out of a car from the 50's or 60's.
Here is a picture of the control switches--
S16 is the Driving Permission Switch-free running
Should light up when switched on
S17 Switch authorizing operation of attachments
Warning Light H17 is switched on when in Reverse Driving.
When you press the Reverse button, S24, the rear attachment is raised
automatically while the tiller and the vibrators stop operating.
The reverse buzzer starts sounding, the warning lamp lights up (H17), and
the rear-mounted lights are switched on automatically.

i do have small pushbutton on left top of wheel and dial on left of coluum that says grnd speed. safe to assume that is track speed? switch has power and switches like forward and rev. also this is approx 1996 machine our instrument panels look different. did not mention all switches are unreadable ,machine has 10000 hrs.what does pedal on floor left side of coluum do . seems like some kind of hyd valve.and finally can theese lockouts be overidden mechanically or electricaly? in case i have sirious electric issues. thankyou very much
more ammo for something simple like the old snow tracs or tuckers too much electronics on the new machines and cars who needs a machine that wipes your a$$ for you too i just need to get from point a to point b warm and in one piece

On the passenger side of the vehicle, under the edge of the engine cover,
you will see a handle. It is resting against the radiator.
Lift it just a little (so it clears the clip that is holding
it in place) and pivot it out toward you. You will see that it is attached
to the manual hydraulic pump as in picture 1.
The little lever is shown as position a or b. With the lever in position a,
if you operate the handle up and down (provided there is hydraulic oil
in the system) you will be able to raise the engine cover. Picture number 4
shows how to lock the engine cover safety device in the raised position.
If you move the lever to b position, operate the manual pump, you will
raise (tilt), the cab. Picture 2 shows how to lock the safety device for the
cab.
If you unlock the engine cover safety device, and have the engine running,
you can use switch S15 (as shown in picture 3) to raise and lower the engine
cover.
This should ease a lot of the frustration you were feeling. When you can't
read the labels on the switches, it's like being blind!!!

Sorry for the late reply and PM, I haven't been online for awhile. I have some t4s info I could send your way.
Hi Ralph. Still intend on sending some stuff to you. Been busy, have 3 T4s and one T4 going, been busy running from machine to machine to keep them going. They are a few hours apart, so it takes time traveling around. Acquired three non-running T4's for parts ... was a good move ... helped out lots so far.

I don't have a used computer for the T4S, mine like Ralph's are converted to mechanical controls (levers) that operate servos for the track motors. In this configuation the computer doesn't do much other than terminate wiring (lol).
I have a bit of info on computer adjustments and external wiring diagrams for the T4S that I can scan and email you, PM me ur email.
On the www.prinoth.com website there is a download section, it'll ask you to register first, then you can access a T4SR maintenace and parts manual, it's got a lot of useful information, such as switch, relay and fuse positions.

The weather in Tripoli of Greece, it is look like Florina. I ve been in Tripoli in 1991 as i was in military airport - Air Base, for 3 and half months.

I don't know because I have never worked on a T4S.
I can send you the information you need about the T4, but it may be
different from your machine.

Happy New Year, sorry for the delay. I sent you a first file tonight. Have a look over it and let me know if you need more detail.
If I send you additional, to make it easier for me, the files will be called "unique name"_front.pdf and "unique name"_rear.pdf. The pages are double sided and it would be too much time for me to photocopy the rear before a scan. You'll have to print the files and then reorder the pages. Okay?
