That is a 'big wheel' Snow Trac, and we really can't tell too much more than that from the photo. A closer photo of the front sprocket and the tracks would probably help a lot as those are wear parts. Tracks are time consuming to replace and costly if you have someone else rebuild them for you. The sprockets are pretty expensive but wear for a very long time before replacement is needed.

$8000 would be a fair price for a decent running machine. Does everything work? Lights? What is the condition of everything else like the sheet metal, paint, interior, etc? Do the brakes work? These are pretty simple machines but there is not a lot of detail we can see from the photo.

From the picture it looks like the machine has sat for years. One of the most important things to know about the Snow Tracs is that you "NEVER" turn the steering wheel when the machine is not rolling. There is a part ST25 i believe that will break if you attempt to do so. That in and of itself was not bad years ago when the parts where available. Now they are harder to come buy. Someone will be producing them again but for now DONT turn the wheel. OK that being said lets get alot more pictures! Get us any pictures of serial numbers and plaques if possible. We can tell from them what year she was made. I would guess 74 myself.

Also the tracks are loose. Bob Skurka can provide you with a free owners manual that will tell you how to tighten the tracks up. DONT NOT tighten the chains up in the engine compartment. Some people do this thinking thats how to tighten the tracks.

Bob Skurka can provide you with a free owners manual. . .
I no longer send out disks with the manuals on them, but you can download them free of charge by following this link, and we have to put in a big plug for "teledawg" for providing this service. He asked about posting them on his site, and I was very grateful that he could do that. Follow this link: http://www.goldcordmine.com/manuals/

i ended up buying the machine afterwards, the model number is 1824. Everything works fine lights, blinkers, horn, wipers the only thing i really need is a pulse pump for the secondary heater, ive got a bunch of pics to show you guys but i cant seem to upload them, it says something about a security token.

AHHHH! Ive run into that before as well. I have no fraken Clue what the hell that is! On the same batch of pics I was able to down load them on FF but not some???????????? Contact BSKURKA. Maybe he can down load them. If not try DOC or BOBCAT.

I got your email Pacifica. I've never even heard of a security token error. Feel free to send them to me and I'll try to upload them. I have seen some pics that simply cannot be uploaded. sometimes copying them via photoshop to another image format will fix them, sometimes not. If not you might try scanning a printed out pic of it and the scan will create a new .jpg file.
Are they .jpg? I allow bigger .jpg's than other file types. I wonder if it's just to big ..if so the error message does not fit it for sure.

I use doc's magic thumbnail converter to downsize all my photo's to 600 pixels - then they load pretty well, even from my next to useless dial up connection.oh, yeah - and welcome to the forum!
