I've been lurking for over a year so It's about time I say hello. I don't know much about older cats so I haven't posted very much in the last year. I would like to own an old tucker some day so I figure reading and learning as much as I can is the first step.
I work for a company in Whistler BC that offers snowmobile and dogsled tours in the mountains near whistler all winter. My job is to run our 2000 Bombardier BR275 to keep 75+kms of snowmobile and 15+kms of dogsled trails in good shape. Our cat is a old ski hill cat with a flex tiller and a 12 way blade. I understand why the east coast guys are grooming with drags and If I thought for a second our cat could pull one on our trails I would use one as well. We get a large amount of snow (40ish feet) per winter and some of our trails are steep enough the cat needs multiple trys to make it up without a drag.
One thing I've learned in the last two years is the driving a cat is very easy. Actually using the cat to make a trail flat is very difficult. I figure I can teach anyone to drive in 10 minutes but I'm 500 hours in and still struggle to make the trail flat..
Aside from operating I am responsible for all the maint/repairs on the cat. I usually have lots of questions and appreciate all the opinions offered on here.
If I can help with grooming questions or anything else just ask..

Heading up throught the trees in over a meter of fresh snow.
This was during a Lexus photo shoot. The SUV on street tires didn't do so well on the snowmobile trails. I was there to groom between shots and drag the car around when It got stuck.(That was a lot)
Last summer getting ready for snow.
I swear It wasn't me, I just helped fix it..
